Opportunities

Family Nights

  • The School Counseling Team will host “Family Nights” for each grade level this fall!

  • The purpose of Family Nights is to discuss: graduation Requirements & planning, financial aid applications, college applications, grade level events, school supports & services, and so much more!

  • Family Nights will be hosted from 5:00-6:00 pm in the Library

  • Family Night Dates are:

    • 11th Grade Family Night: Monday, October 14th

    • 10th Grade Family Night: Tuesday, October 15th

First Gen College Access Club

  • Would you like to be a part of a club that helps you with your college journey? If so, the First Gen Scholars Club is for you!

  • This club is dedicated to helping First Generation students get to college. Throughout this program you will receive mentorship, information, and also something to put on your resume for when it is time to apply to colleges.

  • First Gen meets weekly on Fridays during lunch in Room 801.

9th Grade Opportunity - Brothers & Sisters Gonna Work it Out Conference - CSU San Marcos

  • The purpose of Brothers/Sisters Gonna Work It Out is to provide African American, Latino, Samoan, and Native American youth positive strategies to combat and overcome the debilitating environment and conditions they face daily at school and on the streets.

  • This conference will be at San Marcos on:

    • Friday, November 1, 2024 – Brothers Gonna Work It Out conference 9:30 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.

    • Friday, November 8, 2024 – Sisters Gonna Work It Out conference 9:30 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.

ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE

Saturday School - L6 Core Academy

Need help with assignments, and looking to clear some absences? Saturday school happens every weekend (when there is no major holiday) as an opportunity to clear unexcused absences/tardies, and work on assignments. Center for Newcomer Families

Dear Parents and Guardians of Lincoln High School,


We are excited to introduce the Lincoln High School Center for Newcomer families, a dedicated space for newly arrived students and their families to get acquainted with our district’s resources, programs, and opportunities. The center is designed to be a welcoming environment where families can share their cultures, backgrounds, and goals, ensuring that every student feels valued and prepared to succeed in school.


The services provided include:

  • School Introduction

  • Getting to Know You Interview

  • Language Assessments

  • Mental Health Support

  • Assistance with Basic Needs and Housing

  • Links to Community Services


We will be on Lincoln High School campus every Thursday. Students and families can make appointments by visiting our website at sdusdmed.org/newcomer-support. Translation services are available if an appointment is scheduled.

SENIOR PORTRAITS INFORMATION

Community Schools Corner: UPDATED WEEKLY

  • Our first Lincoln parent/guardian meeting will be on Wednesday, October 9 from 5:30-6:30pm in the Lincoln Library. This group is for any individuals interested in actively participating in our Community Schools working groups and learn about ways to get involved on campus. If anyone would like to participate or help out please email, Adam Armas (aarmas2@sandi.net).

  • I received clarification on the memberships for the YMCA. The Jackie Robinson YMCA is waiving the joining fee ($60) for any Lincoln students. If students would like to sign up, encourage them to go to the Jackie Robinson YMCA and speak with a membership team member.

  • One way to stay up to date with your student’s attendance and grades is to create your PowerSchool Parent Portal account. Below are resources to help create an account.

College Visits Calendar 2024-2025

Expectations:

  1. Students will check into their classrooms at the beginning of the period to receive a pass to the Library (only students with a pass will be admitted)

  2. Maximum capacity of around 50 students. Once that capacity is reached students will need to return to class, and their names will be written down for the college rep to reach out to at a later time.

  3. College Rep presentations may last up to 1 hour

  4. Students should return to class at the end of the period to check in with their teacher

IMIN - After School Program

Our After School Program is called “IMIN.” IMIN offers many fantastic opportunities for enrichment and academic support. Tutoring

IMIN’s after school program hosts weekly tutoring Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in the Library from 3:45-4:45. You can get help on a variety of subjects such as: Math, English, Science, Spanish, and History. This program happens weekly, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to get support!

Lunch Deliveries by Parents and Caregivers

Parent and care givers who choose to deliver their student lunch must park their car and enter the school to drop the food off at the Welcome Center. Students are not allowed to leave campus during the school day or walk out into the parking lot. Food must be delivered at the beginning of lunch. Students will not be allowed to miss class time to come to the Welcome Center once class begins. Food will be secured, and students can get it after school. Food delivery by services such as Uber Eats or Grub Hub will be turned away. The school is not responsible for lost lunches.

Sports physical forms are available in our Nurse’s office. Please contact our Nurse Kay cyoung4@sandi.net if you need assistance with a physical.

Fall Season Sports

  • Girls Volleyball

    • Our girls improve to 15-7 and still top the City League Bracket. Tuesday our Hornets will host San Diego High and Thursday they will visit Canyon Hills!

  • Girls Tennis

  • Football

    • With our 3-2 record and the amazing strength of schedule, Lincoln continues to top the standings at number one. This weeks, our athletes will welcome Los Alamitos High on Saturday at 1pm at Southwestern College.

  • Boys and Girls Cross Country

  • Girls Flag Football

    • Our ballers are also 3-2! This week, they will travel to Kearney HS on Monday
