Boyden Weekly Update
April 12, 2024
Dear Boyden Families,
It was a great week leading into vacation!
Today we began the day with Battle of the Books for Grades 3-5. The students did an amazing job and had a blast answer trivia style questions about the books they read. We ended our day in an all school assebly recongizing our Battle winners, ST March Mathness winners and being entertained by the Kindergarten singing Tony Chestnut. Great way to head into vacation!
Enjoy the week!
Brendan

ST Math March Mathness
We have had an amazing competition over the last 5 weeks for ST Math March Mathness! Every class and every student has made amazing progress. As a school we moved from 64% puzzle progress to 92% so we have already surpassed our end of year goal. The students solved 244,574 puzzles and over 70 students earned their 100% Puzzle Progress Certificate. Eleven classes reached 100% for their class average-congratulations to Mrs. Fields, Mrs. Arnold, Mrs. Grenham, Ms. Ahearn, Ms. O’Malley, Mrs. O’Connor, Mrs. Davis, Ms. Folan, Mrs. Ivatts, Mrs. Massicotte and Mr. Wood.
March Mathness also helped many classes get on track for our 80% for ALL school goal for this year! The following classes have more than 70% of their students at or exceeding the current goal of 66% puzzle progress in order to reach the 80% puzzle progress goal by the end of the year.
Congratulations to: Mrs. O’Connor’s class, Ms. Folan’s class, Mrs. Massicotte’s class, Mrs. Ivatts’ class, Ms. Ahearn’s class, and Mrs. Grenham’s class.
Our winners all averaged over 100 puzzles a week throughout the entire competition which is an amazing achievement.
5th place went to Mrs. Ivatts’ class with an average of 158 puzzles per week and 82% of her class met the weekly goal throughout the competition.
4th place went to Mrs. Massicotte’s fourth grade class with an average of 201 puzzles per week and 89% of her class met the weekly goal throughout the competition.
3rd place was earned by Mrs. Grenham’s first grade class with an average of 230 puzzles per week and 100% of her class met the weekly goal throughout the competition.
2nd place was awarded to Ms. Folan’s third grade class with an average of 113 puzzles for the final week and 268 over the whole competition, plus 85% of her class met the weekly goal throughout the competition.
Our ST March Mathness Champions are Mrs. Fields’ kindergarten class with an average of 572 puzzles in the final week and 269 for the entire competition, plus 93% of her class met the weekly goal throughout the competition.
Congratulations to all of our students for working together to persevere and reach such amazing heights. Keep up the great work as we continue to strive to reach 80% for ALL students by the end of the year!
