🎵 Longwood Chorus Performs at Fine Arts Festival on Saturday, May 17th! 🦁
Celebrate a day of creativity at the Fine Arts Fest on Saturday, May 17th at Metea Valley High School! Enjoy a showcase of student artwork on display throughout the day, and don’t miss the Longwood Chorus in their final performance of the school year at 3:30 PM on the Auditorium Stage.
Chorus Members: Please arrive at 2:30 PM and meet in Band Room A105 for rehearsal. Wear your chorus shirt, black pants or bottoms, and dark shoes.
Come out and support our talented artists and musicians — we can’t wait to see you there!
As we wrap up the year, there are still a few opportunities for (any) parents to volunteer to help their students:
🎓 Our little Lions are growing up! Sign up to help at the 5th Grade Graduation Party coming up on May 27th. We still need at least one more Dad/male volunteer to chaperone on their field trip and some Skinny Pop donations.
😎 It's getting warmer and time to have some FUN outside! Sign up to help Mr. Raya with Field Day on May 29th. Volunteers are open to active and responsible family members (e.g. grandparents, aunts/uncles, older siblings no longer in school, etc.) - just note on the SignUp and bring ID to the event. Thanks!
Viral TikTok Challenge Involving Damage to Chromebooks
District 204 is aware of a concerning trend that has recently surfaced on social media platforms like TikTok. Some students across the country—and in some cases locally—have been participating in a challenge that involves inserting foreign objects into Chromebook charging ports in an attempt to cause an electrical short.
This behavior is not only destructive but also dangerous. It poses a serious safety risk to students and can result in significant damage to the device. If it is determined that a student intentionally damages a Chromebook in this manner, families will be assessed the full replacement cost of $344.
We ask for your help by speaking with your child about the importance of using school-issued technology responsibly and the serious consequences of damaging school property—especially in ways that can cause harm.
As always, our priority is to keep students safe while ensuring that all technology remains available and in working condition to support their learning.

General Information:
- You must be a legal district resident to enroll in IPSD
- Your child should be five years old on or before September 1, 2025
- The school day is from 9:05 – 3:35, 9:15 – 3:35 on Wednesday

Registration officially opens May 1st and this presentation includes an information sheet to get on our mailing list! If on the list, families will receive information about exciting upcoming events, including some just for our future kindergarten learners!
Health Examination and Immunization Requirements:
- Proof of the required state of Illinois physical examination and immunizations needs to be submitted by October 15, 2025
- Oral health examination needs to be submitted by May 15, 2026
- Vision examination needs to be submitted by October 15, 2025
- Health Forms may be found on our district website

Have a child who will be 3 or 4 by September 1, 2025? Apply for Indian Prairie School District's Pre-school Program! Additional support services such as Speech or Occupational Therapy may be available, too, for students eligible after screening. Fee waivers and financial assistance options are available.
