About Ms. Jaimes
Hello, my name is Ann Jaimes, and I am beyond excited to be working with our Multilingual Learners at Wilkesboro Elementary School this academic year.
I attended Wilkes Community College and obtained my Associates in Arts, and later transferred to Appalachian State University, where I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Reading Education with a certificate in Teaching Emergent Bilingual Populations in Content Areas.
Being bilingual, I knew I wanted to serve our ML population. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to fulfill my purpose as an educator on a personal level. My journey has come full circle since I was in the ESL program as a student here in Wilkes County, and am now an ESL teacher.
I come from a family full of laughter and girls. I am one of the oldest of my siblings-my twin sister is older by 1 minute, so technically she is the oldest. Besides her, I have two other sisters and a step brother that lives with us. I enjoy relaxing with friends and family, and doing spontaneous activities like skydiving, which I did over the summer for the first time with my sisters and step dad.
