Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Families,
It’s almost time for us to welcome the Loveland Tiger Class of 2038! Kindergarten Roundup happens this week, along with the start of Kindergarten registration. Over the past few years, we’ve been working to make the kindergarten experience even better for our Loveland Tiger families. We’ve eliminated a lottery for full-day kindergarten seats - but it’s still important that families get signed up quickly for kindergarten!
Here are some important dates:
Kindergarten Roundup - Wednesday, January 22 at 5:30 pm
Kindergarten Registration - Thursday, January 23
Kindergarten Roundup takes place at Loveland Early Childhood Center. It’s a parents-only event that will provide information about our kindergarten program. This is a great introduction to Loveland City Schools for first-time kindergarten parents, or those who have questions about curriculum and programming.
Kindergarten Registration opens on Thursday, January 23. Once registration opens, you can complete online forms and learn more on our website lovelandschools.org/kinder. If your child will be five years old on or before August 1, 2025 and you live within the Loveland City Schools boundaries, you are eligible for kindergarten. Our half-day programs are provided at no-cost, but full-day kindergarten is tuition-based.
The video above is a great introduction to our kindergarten program, and I hope you help us spread the word, and round-up the Loveland Tiger Class of 2038!
If you have questions, you can always reach me at mikebroadwater@lovelandschools.org.
Go Tigers!

High School Start Time Information
Beginning with the 2025-26 school year, we are moving to a later high school start time for Loveland High School. The day will begin at 8:15 am instead of 7:45 am. Studies show that starting school later has a positive impact on students’ sleep schedules and mental health. Parents continue to share with us that student mental health is one of their top concerns, and this is an easy way to help address the issue.
The school day will run from 8:15 am-2:50 pm instead of 7:45 am-2:40 pm. Schedule details are included in the graphic. Bells are shortened by an average of two minutes, but the new 48-minute bell schedule still puts Loveland ahead of the majority of other local school districts in terms of instructional time. In addition to the later start time, the new schedule has other advantages. It eliminates a split fifth bell for students who currently see their fifth-period class interrupted for lunch. The schedule also creates “office hours” where staff can meet with students before class. Parents will still be able to drop off students as early as 7 am, if necessary.
School Board Recognition Month
January is School Board Recognition Month & Board Members are spending time in the buildings to get an even closer look at the classroom experience.
