💗Happy February!
Cycle 4 Progress Reports went home on Friday (bright blue paper) and always go out in student's sixth period class. Remember that progress reports are a snapshot in time and that Power School is always the most up-to-date grading information.
🏀Girls and Boys Basketball Teams will be making up a game on Feb 8, but Thursday the 1st both Girls has exciting wins against Lawson MS (pictured). Come watch the last Boys Basketball game at West Briar this Thursday, the 8th against Rice. We're also exceptionally proud of our 8th grade Boys Basketball Team as they've been invited to a City-Wide tournament becuase of their outstanding performance this school year. Excellent demonstration of #GrizzlyValues by all basketball teams!
This Friday is the 8th Gr PTO Winter Social- students can stop by on their way out of the building and be picked up at 5:00pm.
Finally- please note that we will be reviewing second semester reminders of our '23-'24 Student Handbook this week to ensure students remember our Grizzly PRIDE expectations (last two pages) for behavior throughout our building. Campus-wide consistency in PRIDE expectations not only increases safety for students and staff but also optimizes a productive student learning environment. In particular- student Cell Phones will be highlighted as we remind students of our Cell Phone/Ear bud policy as noted in the flyer below. Our campus cell phone policy fully aligns with the Houston ISD cell phone policy as noted in the '23-'24 Houston ISD Code of Conduct (pg. 17).

🏀 Harlem Wizards come to the West!
On February 22, 2024- the West Briar PTO is partnering with other Westside feeder schools to host a Harlem Wizards event at Westside High School. The world-famous Harlem Wizards are a professional basketball team that come from New York to bring a community-wide event where teachers and staff "take on" the Harlem Wizards! All Westside Feeder campuses are welcome and it's going to be loads of fun!

- must upload a completed physical form and
- an insurance wavier (or pay $35 dollars for HISD insurance)
