We currently have a Girl Scout who is beginning a Gold Award project at Aspen Elementary! The project revolves around installing a “puzzle library” on campus, similar to the “free little library” in front of the school! In order to help make this project unique to Aspen, there is survey for parents to complete that will ask some short questions about your child, and the information will only be used in the Gold Award project. The following guidelines will assist us in keeping our students safe in the parking lot:

• Proceed in the Aspen parking lot at no more than 5 miles per hour.
• Walk with your child across the parking lot using the marked crosswalk.
• Do not allow your child to walk unattended between cars.
• Stay in the right hand lane, move all the way forward, and drop your student off from the right side of the vehicle.
• Never leave your vehicle unattended in the drive-thru lanes.
• Follow the California Vehicle Code laws.
• Remind your child to respect people’s property.

Consider the following:

• You may pull up to the curb at the front of the school to drop off your student.
• You may park on the street on Oberlin or Marlowe and walk your student on campus.
• Please do not block driveways.
• Be mindful of labeled No Parking zones near the crosswalks.
• The gates at the front of the school will be open for entry and exit. There will not be access through the gate on Marlowe before school.
• Arrange with your student ahead of time a location for pickup.

Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) is pleased to provide all students with a Chromebook through the District’s 1:1 Program. While at no cost to families, proper use and care of the Chromebook is the responsibility of the student and their parent/guardian. To support this program, CVUSD is offering Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) program for parents to eliminate the concern and costs of repairing or replacing damaged, or stolen Chromebooks.

Kindergarten is hosting a fundraiser TODAY, Friday, January 10, 2025, from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Chuck E. Cheese’s in Thousand Oaks. Please join us and we hope to see you all there!!

Wow Aspen families! You donated over 150 toys for our toy drive! Congratulations to Mrs. Calle’s Kindergarten class for winning the classroom competition!

Want to send your student an extra special birthday wish?! Add their name to the Aspen Marquee outside the school office. Venmo $20 to @AspenElementaryPFA, then email student’s name and birthdate to aspenbirthdaygrams@gmail.com. Still accepting January Birthdays (due TODAY, Friday, 1/10). February Birthdays are due Thursday, 1/30. Birthday greetings will remain on the marquee for the month! All proceeds support Aspen PFA

LAST CALL! All receipts dated November 1-January 15 earn 20 points per dollar spent! But they must be submitted online by January 15 to be eligible. Dining, movies, kiosks, and outdoor markets all count! Submit receipts online, place in the School Cents drawer in the front office, or email a photo of your receipt to aspenschoolrewards@gmail.com.
