November 12th Meeting

Our next meeting for this year will be on November 12th at 4 pm in Ms. Escamilla's room (1701). We will be making hand turkeys, writing letters to the assistant principals, and having our annual potluck. Sign up to bring something using this link.

Online Fundraiser

Each year, our chapter participates in an online crowdfunding fundraiser. Students will use the url address above to set up their own personal fundraising pages. The more personal the pages can be- the better! Once you have completed your page- send it out to family and friends!!

Updates on the top fundraisers will be sent out weekly. Take a look at the incentives!

November 23rd - Area LDE

Area LDEs will be held at East View High School in Georgetown. This is our STATE qualifying contest. Just like the 1st and 2nd place teams from each district advanced to area, the 1st and 2nd place teams at area will advance to state.

We will be taking activity buses to the contest and leave from VHS that morning between 7 and 7:30. Time will be finalized as we receive more information on competition order.

All students (aside from the skills teams) must be in full and correct official dress.

National FFA Convention

Our vet science team competed at the national FFA vet science CDE contest this week. Out of 46 teams they placed 3rd and Kirsten Tjelmeland placed 1st in the NATION out of 184 individuals! We are so proud of everything they have accomplished and all of the hard work they have put in these past few months! We are so proud of this team for not only representing our chapter, but also the entire state of Texas.

Another congratulations to Lyli Quintanilla from Hendrickson for placing 2nd in the nation for Prepared Public Speaking and to Vista Ridge FFA Marketing Plan for advancing to the final four! Capital District and Area 12 are doing great things!!!

Jr Superintendent

Congratulations to Griffin Reiger and Campbell Jordan for being selected as TCYS Jr.Superintendents and another congratulations to Taylor Anderson and Brooke Cox for being selected as GLFFA Jr.Superintendents! Super proud to have all of you representing out chapter.

Trunk or Treat

Our FFA served at the Vandegrift high school's annual trunk or treat, and everyone had a blast! We set up a petting zoo with some of the lambs and goats from the barn and had a photo opportunity for people to take pictures with the animals. The kids all had a great time, and we hope to do it again next year!

FFA District Fall Dance and LDE banquet

The district Fall Dance and LDE banquet will be held on December 2nd, the location is still TBD but a remind will be sent out when it is finalized. This will be a chance to celebrate all of our LDE winners and those who have advanced to area and state.

Food will be provided to everyone who attends.

Homecoming

Our homecoming committee worked hard designing, building, and decorating our homecoming float for the parade! This year's theme is "A Night in Rio," and our members chose to represent that theme by turning our trailer into a colorful chicken! Great job to everyone who helped make this possible, and thank you to everyone who rode on the float to pass out candy to the viper supporters!
