- In the Caribbean culture, it is very common for people to spend many days preparing food for holidays and special events.
- The highly seasoned and slow smoking process of Jerk cooking was developed many years ago as a way of preserving meat for long ocean voyages.
- The Taino people, native to Jamaica and the Caribbean, are credited with coming up with the term 'barbecue,' which is derived from the Taino word barabicua.
Chartwells' Chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph grew up cooking alongside his Aunt in Guyana, savoring the flavors of South America and the Caribbean. He stated, "I'm honored to partner with Chartwells K12 and thrilled for students to experience a taste of the Caribbean in their own school cafeterias."
All Global Eats lunch options are available to High School students on Tuesdays throughout the month of March! All Global Eats lunch choices are included as part of the FREE meals to ALL students, so please encourage your student to try something NEW!

DID YOU KNOW?
Parents can filter out allergens for children with food allergies or sensitivities, find carb counts, and even print the menu when using the Nutrislice menu tools. These extra options can be found in the upper right hand corner of the screen when viewing your child's school menu through Nutrislice!
Please note that our staff may need to adjust menus when items become unavailable due to supply chain issues. We ask that parents and students remain flexible and patient with unexpected menu changes and substitutions.
