Fall sports season gets underway - Wildcat Way, Ticketing & Streaming info
As the fall sports season gets underway, we wanted to remind all fans of The Wildcat Way which outlines our fan expectations.
All of our games and activities - home & away - should be positive experiences for all involved - the players, fans, officials, and coaches. Therefore, we want to emphasize positive fan participation. We want to teach our students sportsmanship - on and off the field - and be role models for them. Our fan expectation program is called the Wildcat Way and includes three main parts - Be Respectful, Be a True Fan, and Demonstrate #WildcatPride.
Ticketing
We’ll continue to use our online ticketing system for home football, soccer, & volleyball games. You can purchase your ticket in advance at this link - https://secure.payk12.com/school/Harrisonville-High-School-/634. You can also pay at the gate with a credit/debit card. No cash will be accepted.
Ticket prices are as follows:
All Varsity MRVC games - Center, Clinton, Harrisonville, Oak Grove, Odessa, Pleasant Hill, Warrensburg (home and away) - Adults: $5, Students: Free w/Student ID, Senior Citizens (65 and Older): Free w/ ID. These prices exclude all MSHSAA playoff games and/or tournaments.
All Lower Level (MS or JV Only) MRVC athletic events (home and away) - Adults: $3, Students: Free w/Student ID. This excludes all tournaments.
You can also purchase year or season passes. This information and the ticket link are also available on the district website & app.
Streaming
You can enjoy watching & supporting our Wildcat teams from home via live stream. We stream home varsity volleyball, soccer, basketball, and wrestling (meets only) via Hudl - https://fan.hudl.com/usa/mo/harrisonville/organization/10923/harrisonville-high-school
An outside organization - 4Teez - streams Wildcat football games using their YouTube channel. Here’s that link - https://www.youtube.com/@4teez/streams
Both the ticketing & streaming links are available on our website. See the Sports Ticketing & Streaming button under the main photo.
Game Attendance Guidelines
Also, we wanted to make you aware of the following procedures…
ALL elementary & middle school students MUST be accompanied by an adult to enter varsity football games and the family/group should sit together during the event. HS students need to bring ID. Students who are middle school or elementary age who do not have an adult in charge of them will be turned away at the gate or asked to call a ride and leave the game.
Adults: note that any students you bring with your family are your responsibility.
We ask that an adult accompany your child to the restroom or concession stand throughout the event.
No backpacks will be allowed in the stadium for varsity football games and there will be no backpack storage available. Those with backpacks will be turned away at the gate.
The lights on the scoreboard and at the stadium will be turned off 20 minutes after the games. This signals that the stadium is closing and we ask that you please exit.
Only high school students with family members active as a MS football player or cheerleader can attend home MS football games.
New space at HES helps all students
Harrisonville Elementary School students now have a new space to help them succeed in school thanks to a grant from the Variety Children's Charity of Greater Kansas City. HES special education teacher Sara Doherty saw the need for a Sensory Room at the school and submitted a grant.
Doherty said, “Sensory needs are tricky. Finding what sensory input a student needs to feel calm is as unique as the student themselves. What works for one student may have the opposite effect on another. What settles one, might make another more amped up. The sensory room has so many different sensory options, it gives us a way to find what a student needs. The room itself is a calm escape from the typical controlled chaos of an elementary school. When you walk in, everything outside of the room melts away. You hear the sound machine, see the colorful lights, and can feel so many different textures. Additionally, it's a fun space! Every kid and adult that walks by and sees it is fascinated by it!”
The Sensory Room includes a bubble tube, mini sensory mats, a cuddle box, weighted stuffed animal dog, tap lights, a breathing pal, white noise machine, sensory swing and so much more.
“Our special education students in the SEAL (Social Emotional Autism Language) room have individual scheduled breaks in the room each day. Our students in our Life Skills program have a daily group break in the room. For these students, it breaks up their day and allows them to calm and reset. It is not just our special education students that are getting use out of this room though!” said Doherty. “We have students across the building who are earning breaks in the Sensory Room through good behavior. Our principals and focus room facilitator are building in breaks for kids that need sensory input or a way to disconnect from the stress of school. This room is very helpful for students who come in and are having a rough morning. They can use the room to get calm and reset for the day.”
