Reminder: No School Next Friday
There is no school for students, next Friday, Oct. 11 for a staff in-service day.
Mental Health Support
Did you know there are local organizations ready to help with trauma, grief, depression, anxiety and other emotional issues? MSD works with Yamhill Family and Youth (crisis line: 844.842.8200) and Lutheran Community Services Northwest (503.472.4020) to support students and families, and families can reach out to these organizations directly.
Planning for the Future
MSD partners with the Oregon College Savings Plan to help families start thinking about life after high school – starting in kindergarten. The tax-deductible plan allows families to save for educational expenses like tuition and fees, books, computers, supplies, equipment and more.
The plan isn’t just for four-year college attendance; students can use the funds for certificate programs, community college, apprenticeships, technical college, trade school and graduate school.
LEGOs on No-School Days
If you’re looking for something to do on the upcoming no-school Fridays, the McMinnville Library is hosting LEGO afternoons on Oct. 11, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. Find out more under your school’s Peachjar button.
Friday Nights at the Library
The October Friday night activities lineup for teens begins tonight, Oct. 4. Remember, Lafayette students are included in the invite! See your school’s Peachjar button for what’s on deck.
