We had the BEST #TAW EVER!!!
A HUGE thank you to our Working for Kids group for an AMAZING staff appreciation week. They go above and beyond ever year to make us feel valued, appreciated, and cared for. Here are some highlights from our week at Camp Kegonsa!
Congrats to Mr. Jarmuz: 1 of 5 statewide Teacher Appreciation Week winners!
Storyteller visits Kegonsa
Coral Conant Gilles is a Storytelling Naturalist who recently visited Kegonsa. She lives in Madison and the majority of her stories have nature or animals as a focus. She likes to add seasonal elements to programs and the transition to winter is one of her favorite seasonal changes. Students had the opportunity to participate interactively with Coral, which helped her tell the stories. Students were able to give ideas that Coral incorporated into each story she told. Our students enjoyed being involved in the storytelling process!

Update from the Kegonsa Music Department
Concert season continues in the music room! Families are welcome to attend all Kegonsa concerts, but we know sometimes it can be hard to make it. If you or a family member can’t make it, WSTO TV records all concerts for grades 1-5 for later viewing online or on TV.
1st and 2nd grade’s Concert is live on WSTO’s site or on YouTube. 3rd & 4th graders concert is also on WSTO’s site or on YouTube. Kindergarteners performed a fantastic informance on May 2nd. WSTO does not record Kindergarten, but our 5th grade helpers took photos and videos of the events, which can be found in this file.
Upcoming Music Events:
3rd Grade Syttende Mai Opening Ceremonies - May 17th at 6:00 p.m.
This event is OPTIONAL because transportation is up to your family.
5th Grade - May 30th at 8:00 a.m.
Did you know both 2nd and 4th graders are working on creating music? 2nd graders are composing a song from scratch and 4th graders are writing rhymes and using looping software to create beats for their own raps. All grades are about to start their final units on Form, Dynamics, and meter.
Pictured are 4th Graders working on their rap project and 1st Graders demonstrating how we hold rhythm sticks!
