Rhode Island OLIS Featured on IMLS Social Media
Sharing Visions, a joint effort by the New England State Library Agencies, presents the Sharing Visions 2024 Virtual Conference from 1:00-3:30pm via Zoom on Thursday, March 28, 2024. This conference brings together library practitioners and others interested in resource sharing developments for learning and sharing.
The program is free and open to attendees from all types of libraries. The Zoom link to join the event will be emailed to registered participants the day before the event.
Free Library Journal Online Courses for RI Library Staff, Spring 2024
OLIS will provide registration to Library Journal courses on topics including managing conflict, de-escalation, project management and trauma-informed service. Seats are limited, sign up soon!
The 2024 AskRI Resource Survey is now open for submissions. Survey results will better inform services provided through AskRI.org. Submissions are due by March 15, 2024.
Voting for the 2024 RI Children's Book Award
Voting for the 2024 RI Children's Book Award will take place March 1 - April 30. Beginning March 1, 2024, schools and libraries may submit their voting results using the online form. The winner will be announced early May 2024.

NLS Quarterly Patron Corner March 11
On Monday, March 11, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. eastern time, the NLS Patron Engagement Section will host the quarterly Patron Corner.
The topic for this program is Your Patron Engagement Section: How We Can Provide the Service You Want.
NLS Releases BARD Mobile iOS v. 2.2.2
NLS has released BARD Mobile iOS version 2.2.2 to the App Store. Enhancements included in this version include Siri shortcuts and international language search.
The topic for the March 14, 2024, Many Faces of BARD program will be Using the Audio Player in BARD Express: A Demonstration. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. eastern time.
Resources for the Presidential Preference Primary
Resources are available through the Department of State for the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary on April 2 to support voter engagement and ballot access. Providing these resources to your patrons not only helps Rhode Islanders, but also promotes voter turnout by spreading the word about the upcoming presidential preference primary election.
