ROCORI Secondary School Update

We are one week away from the end of the term which is the halfway point of the school year! We have had a fantastic first half and we want to say thank you for sending us great kids to work with everyday. Last year we expressed some challenges with behaviors in certain areas of the building, and this year we have seen a significant reduction in those same behaviors. We are continuing to try and improve on our Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) and send positive communications home when we see them with individual students. With a school our size there is always things to work through, but when we do call home with challenging conversations, we feel that our family’s partner with us to address those challenges. I have heard several times this year from new staff that they are impressed with the students we have. ROCORI is a great place to work because we serve great students and families.

We want families to be aware that we will begin to register for classes in February (See Schedule Below). Please begin talking to your student on potential interests they may want to explore in 2024-25.

RHS Grades 9-11

• Feb. 7 - Registration materials distributed during extended Homeroom.
• Feb. 14 - Registration forms collected in Homeroom
• Feb. 15 - Second Round Collection. Students hand in registration forms to homeroom advisor during breakfast break
• Feb. 21 - Students will go to homeroom with their device and all students will enter registration during that time with their advisors help.

RMS Grades 6-8

• Jan. 25 - Current 6th & 7th Grade Registration materials distributed in their English Classes. Due Feb. 2.
• Jan. 26 - Counselors present registration to 8th grade in English Class. Due Feb. 2nd
• Feb. 2 - 6/7/8th Grade Registration materials due back to English Teacher.
• Feb. 6 - Current 7th graders will register for classes with their device in their English class.
• Feb. 7 - Current 6th graders will register for classes with their device in their English class.

During the school year photos may be taken of students participating in school activities and celebrating successes and accomplishments. If you do not want photos taken or shared of your child, please provide us with written notice.

SENIORS - Keep checking back to the ROCORI website for possible SCHOLARSHIPS that you could be eligible to apply for this year! The list will continue to be updated throughout the spring as we are informed of more scholarship opportunities!

Mark your calendars for May 31st at 7:00pm when we will celebrate the 2024 graduating class.

Student Council is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, January 24th.

WHEN - Friday, February 23 from 8-10 PM.

WHERE - High School Gym *Enter/Exit through Door 10 by the weight room*

WHAT - DJ Herrig will be playing the music. There will be FREE Marentelli’s pizza, giveaways such as apparel and gift cards, and FREE ADMISSION.

WHO - It is open to 9th-12th grade only. *Permission forms to bring someone from a different school will be in the office.*
