The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Drinking water is important during allergy season because it helps thin mucus, aids in sinus drainage, and supports overall immune function, potentially mitigating allergy symptoms and preventing dehydration.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
Thins Mucus:
Staying hydrated helps to thin the mucus in your nasal passages, making it easier to clear and reducing congestion, which can help alleviate symptoms like runny nose and sneezing.
Aids Sinus Drainage:
Water helps to keep the nasal passages and sinuses moist, which is crucial for proper drainage and preventing blockages.
Supports Immune Function:
Adequate hydration is essential for overall health, including a healthy immune system, which is vital for managing allergic reactions.
May Help Regulate Histamine Response:
Dehydration can potentially exacerbate allergic reactions by influencing the body's histamine response, so staying hydrated can help keep that response in check.
Dilutes Allergens:
Water can help dilute allergens in the body, potentially reducing the severity of allergic reactions.
Dehydration can worsen allergies:
When you are dehydrated, your body produces higher histamine levels, which can make allergy symptoms worse.
Electrolytes are important:
While drinking water is essential, you also need to replenish electrolytes, which can be done by adding hydration powders to your water.
Not a Cure:
While drinking water can help manage allergy symptoms, it's important to note that it cannot cure allergies, and medical attention should be sought for serious reactions.
Art Club Update
Students from Mrs. Houghtaling's Art Club made some amazing dragon eyes! The dragon eyes were made by coloring white model magic clay with ink dobbers. Students formed their eye and learned how to make different types of scales. Then, they designed their own dragon eye "look". Once their work was completed, they were coated with art resin. The creativity that comes out of the art club students is super impressive! Thanks you, Mrs. Houghtaling, for sharing your time and talents with our Angels!
