Teacher Appreciation
September 2024
Hello Friends,
It’s been a while since my last newsletter, and I wanted to share some exciting updates with you. After two years in a district-level position, I realized just how much I missed working directly with students. I’m thrilled to announce that I have returned to campus life as the principal at Central High School in Keller ISD, Texas!
The best part of this transition is that the middle school where I served as principal for ten years is the sole feeder school to Central High School. It has been a joy to reconnect with my former students and their families, and I’m in awe of how much they have grown over the past two years.
I look forward to the wonderful experiences ahead and to making a positive impact in my students' lives once again!
Now, let's dive into the teacher appreciation strategy I'd like to share in this newsletter.
What are your teacher's favorite things?
Every year, I like to kick off the school year by having teachers complete a Google Form where I gather fun details about them, such as their favorite candy, snack, and Sonic drink. This year, I added a new question: “What is your favorite school supply?”
I made this addition because I’ve noticed that many principals tend to give one-size-fits-all gifts during Christmas and Teacher Appreciation Week. My goal this year is to provide each of my 200+ staff members with personalized gifts that reflect their individual preferences. By combining their favorite school supplies, candy, and snacks, I aim to create thoughtful gifts that truly show my appreciation for their hard work.
With such a large staff, I know I’ll need ample time to plan, purchase, and organize everything to ensure each gift is special. I’m excited about this initiative and can’t wait to celebrate my incredible team!
