Mechanical & Masonry Phase
March Progress Update
Welcome to the fourth rectory construction newsletter! These newsletters will come every few weeks as construction progresses to give a snapshot of what's happened and what's to come.
This month we saw the mechanical phase of the rectory completed, which includes the plumbing, HVAC, and electrical. On the exterior, it doesn't look like much is happening, but inside these mechanicals are what differentiate a home from a tent! Earlier this month, we completed the electrical walkthrough to make sure all outlets, fixtures, and switches were in their optimal places. Our IT and camera and security crews have ensured all wiring and access is in place. Once all the mechanicals are completed and inspections completed, we will move to the insulation and drywall phase on the inside of the rectory.
We also saw the masonry work completed around the foundation and the front porch concrete poured. The cornerstone for the new rectory was inset in the brick on the front porch to commemorate the people of St. Mary and St. Patrick Parishes who made this construction possible. The cornerstone was donated by Marc Burr from Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes. Thank you, Marc!
The crew from Henninger's stopped by to get window measurements where the stained glass will be placed (chapel, above front door, and sidelight columns from the dining room looking out to the deck). The front-facing windows will have uplighting just like the church to shine out at night!
It's wonderful to see the rectory progress week by week. While it's still too soon to define a move-in date, I know we are on track for completion sometime this Fall. I am immensely grateful to Payne & Payne for their diligent work on the rectory and keeping me informed on progress on a regular basis. Thank you, as well, for your prayers and support for this project.
We still have Prayer Plaque opportunities available if you're interested in contributing to ancillary rectory costs and other capital needs at the parish. Click the link at the bottom of this newsletter for more information!

It's interesting to walk through the rectory to see the ductwork and electrical behind the walls.
Stairwell Wiring
This photo gives a glimpse at the intricacy of the wiring. What looks like a mess of wires at this point will become an organized configuration for lighting.

St. Mary School Room Design
Retired Priest Suite
Our 2nd and 3rd graders worked as a team of four to design a suite for the new rectory! They presented their designs in class to Fr. Scott, Fr. Fabian, Deacon Anthony, and Deacon Tom. They worked from the actual design of a second floor room to come up with some creative ideas for how to furnish and decorate the room! We are so proud of their hard work!
