Dear Bluejacket Families
As we move into February, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible work happening across Cambridge-Isanti Schools. This past month has been filled with meaningful professional growth for our staff, outstanding student achievements, and continued community engagement. I am proud of the dedication of our educators, students, and families who work together to make our district a place where every learner can thrive.
Professional Learning Day Recap
On February 14, our educators participated in a district-wide Professional Learning Day focused on strengthening instructional strategies and student support. Highlights included:
Catalyst Training – Practical classroom management strategies to enhance student focus and participation.
Literacy and Math Sessions – Collaborative discussions on effective teaching practices and curriculum implementation.
Well-Being Workshops – Sessions on stress management, resilience, and student support strategies.
Curriculum Updates – Reviewing new standards and instructional resources in core subjects.
Student Safety & Awareness – Training on current trends and strategies to support student well-being.
These sessions reflect our ongoing commitment to academic excellence, student well-being, and innovative teaching. We are grateful for our educators' dedication to continuous improvement and the impact it has on our students every day.
Celebrating Bluejacket Success
February has also been a month full of exciting achievements and positive stories across our schools:
CIHS Band Perform at State-Level Event – Our talented musicians showcased their skills at the All-State Band Concert at Orchestra Hall.
CIHS One-Act Play Earns High Honors – Our theater students delivered an outstanding one-act play performance, earning high honors at the section competition.
CIHS Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Students Qualify for State – Seven students excelled at the Mid-Winter Star Event and will represent CIHS at the FCCLA State Competition.
Bluejacket Robotics Team Advances to Regionals – Our robotics students continue to impress with their creativity, teamwork, and engineering skills.
Keagen Lowman and Ava Miller announced as Cambridge-Isanti High School’s Triple-A Award winners - This distinguished honor celebrates student-athletes who excel in Academics, Arts, and Athletics, demonstrating a well-rounded commitment to excellence.
Winter Sports Teams Shine! – From wrestling to basketball and gymnastics to hockey, our Bluejacket athletes are giving their all and making our community proud as we move into “tournament time.”
Grace Pointe Visits - CMS's MN Junior Honor Society kicked off the first of five visits to GracePointe Retirement Community this year. Stories, crafts, and laughter were shared by all!
IMS Kindness “Krew” - Our Kindness Krew, 25 students and our two counselors, is visiting Isanti Primary Kindergarten classes on February 20. Students will each read a couple of stories to their little Bluejacket buddies.
I Love to Read Month Kicks Off! – IPS and CPS launched I Love to Read Month with exciting events, including a school-wide 100,000-minute reading challenge at IPS and a Reading Rocks Assembly at CPS, where staff dressed as rock stars (Read more about I Love to Read at CPS)!
Chess and Spelling Competitions in Full Swing – CIS Chess Club continues to grow, with over 25 students participating in weekly competitions, while IIS is hosting its annual Spelling Bee, with finalists competing later this month.
Character Education & Student Engagement – IIS/STEAM recently hosted an exciting assembly that reinforced the value of the Bluejacket Character Trait of Honesty.
A “Little Art” – Early Childhood team wrapped up its "Imagine it, Make it" unit with engaging art shows for families that showcase BIG talent by our littlest of learners.
As we approach spring, we are excited for the continued success of our students both in and out of the classroom. Thank you for your continued partnership in creating a safe, supportive, and thriving learning environment for all.

2025-26 School Calendar
Exciting news! The School Board approved next year’s calendar at the January 23 meeting! Here are some key dates to look forward to:
- September 2, 2025: First day of school
- October 16-17, 2025: MEA Break
- December 24-31, 2025: Winter Break
- March 9-13, 2026: Spring Break
- June 4, 2026: Last day for students
- June 5, 2026: Graduation Day! 🎓

Adventure Center Registration
Adventure Center provides enriching, safe, and engaging programming for children ages 3 through 5th grade, including before and after school care and summer programs. Spaces fill quickly and we often have waitlists—register early to secure your child’s spot.
Preschool Age Before and After School Program – Now Open
Summer Program (Grades K-5) – Opens March 1, 2025
2025-2026 School Year Program – Opens April 1, 2025

High School Registration
Calling all families of 8th grade students - it’s time to register for high school courses! Follow these steps to ensure you are ready for high school:
Take a look at the courses offered and become familiar with Graduation Requirements in our “CIHS Registration Guide: 2025-26.”
Attend our “RINGS NIGHT” - February 27, 2025, 5 - 7 p.m. **High school staff will be going to the middle schools (CMS/IMS) to help any students register who were unable to attend RINGS Night**
If you are new to Cambridge-Isanti Schools, complete the registration process online or at the District Office.

Register Now for Spring Athletics/Activities
February kicks off registration season for Spring sports and activities. What activities will your teen be involved in? With athletic teams, academic clubs and activities, we have opportunities for everyone. We hope every student will find their place with a club, sport, service group or leadership activity. Registrations must be completed online before the season begins. Here’s how to register.
