News and updates for families of Inspire students
October 1, 2020
Dear Inspire Families:
On September 29, Butte County Public Health Department issued a press release to announce that Butte County has moved from Tier 1 (purple) to Tier 2 (red) of the State's COVID-19 Blueprint for a Safer Economy. If Butte County remains in Tier 2 for at least two additional weeks, schools will no longer be mandated to remain closed and Inspire can begin planning for a safe return to school in-person.
We have learned much since school started in August, and while we are proud of the plans we put in place this summer to return to teaching and learning, we have much work to do to ensure we're back on campus safely and effectively. Inspire staff will be meeting next week to discuss next steps. A return to in-person learning involves careful planning, and it may mean a gradual and multi-tiered campus reopening. We are asking for your feedback and support to ensure we continue to meet your child's educational needs.
We have three opportunities coming up for parents and guardians to get involved in school planning for in-person learning:
1) Small-Group Parent/Guardian Planning Meeting on Wednesday, October 7 from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Please email me if you would like to be involved.
2) Parent/Guardian Information Meeting on Thursday, October 15 at 6 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to go over Inspire's tentative plan for bringing students back on campus. The meeting will be held via Zoom and will be open to all. We will record the meeting and post the video on our school website for those not able to attend. See details below.
3) Parent/Guardian Survey Keep an eye out for a parent/guardian survey that will be included in my newsletter next Friday. With the rapid changes involved in developing a response to the pandemic, we appreciate your up-to-date feedback to inform our decision-making.
It is important to note that the COVID-19 status of our county is fluid. There is a possibility that we may return to Tier 1 status. As always, I will do my best to keep you updated as quickly as possible. Please know how grateful we are for the understanding and support our Inspire families have shown on this journey! Your partnership has been essential to developing a school plan that works for kids.
With gratitude and hope,
