Student Action Teams are off and running!
This past week marked the kickoff of our student action team meetings. We were pleased to see the engagement of both students and staff as they came together for the first time this year. With more than 9 Student Action Teams, close to 200 students, and 30 staff members involved, our commitment to leadership is impressive. These teams represent a significant collaborative effort to support and develop student leadership skills across our school community.
What are Student Action Teams?A "student action team leader" in the "Leader in Me" program is a student who takes on a leadership role within a specific team focused on a particular project or initiative, allowing them to actively contribute to improving their school environment by applying the leadership principles taught in the program, often including organizing events, managing tasks, and representing their team to others; essentially, it's a student leader empowered to take action on a specific area within the school community.
Leader in Me & P.B.I.S. Parent Night
The night was a testament to collaborative effort, with our dedicated school team working hand in hand to provide valuable insights. Our school psychologist Ms. Fu, school counselor Mr. Hurst, ELS coordinator Mrs. Brown, and a remarkable group of kindergarten student leaders joined forces to create an informative and inspiring presentation.
Attendees were introduced to the Leader in Me framework, exploring the powerful 8 habits that empower students to become proactive, goal-oriented leaders. The evening also highlighted our school-wide P.B.I.S. expectations, demonstrating our commitment to creating a supportive, respectful learning environment.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the parents who took the time to attend and engage with these important initiatives. Your support is crucial in helping our students develop leadership skills and positive behaviors that will serve them throughout their lives.
Thank you to our incredible staff and student leaders for making this evening a success!
Thanksgiving Cheer in TK and Kindergarten: A Friendsgiving Celebration!
Our youngest learners recently came together for a heartwarming Friendsgiving celebration that filled the students with joy and gratitude. The children delighted in singing festive songs and listening to a special story that captured the spirit of thankfulness. Each student had the opportunity to share what they are grateful for, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
A highlight of the day was creating and enjoying a delicious Friendsgiving trail mix. This tasty treat not only satisfied their appetites but also served as a playful reminder of the 8 Habits, reinforcing important character-building lessons. The activity brought our TK and Kindergarten friends closer together, strengthening their sense of community and school family.
The event was a wonderful opportunity for our littlest learners to connect, celebrate, and appreciate the bonds of friendship and gratitude.

Spirit Soars: Student Leadership Takes Center Stage!
Friday's Spirit Assembly was nothing short of exciting! For the first time this school year,, our Student Action Team took the reins and led the school into an unforgettable celebration of school spirit and student leadership.
The assembly kicked off with an energetic review of our S.O.A.R. model and P.B.I.S. expectations, highlighting our commitment to creating a positive learning environment. We also showcased our Leader in Me 8 habit language, empowering students to embrace personal growth and community involvement.
The highlight of the day? An epic staff versus students "Hot Potato" showdown! In a thrilling finale, our students clinched a victorious win, sending the crowd into a frenzy of cheers and excitement!
What a perfect way to launch into our Thanksgiving break - celebrating teamwork, leadership, and school pride! Congratulations to our Student Action Team for an incredible assembly that brought our school community together.
