One Book, One School

Edwardsburg Primary is reading 8 Class Pets + 1 Squirrel/1 Dog = Chaos! All students and staff at the Primary received the book and it is our hope that you will set aside 15 - 20 minutes per night to read a chapter with your child. We are excited to celebrate reading month with your children and are looking for a great month of celebrating reading in our building!

To announce our book, we had a fantastic kick-off assembly which included a teacher skit, some chants and special reading challenges from Mrs. Spaulding! Students are encouraged to read 400 minutes outside of school, if they do, they will receive a form to get two free tickets to the South Bend Cubs.

Other prizes for the month include:

• Top Reading minutes for a class - Wins a "class pet"
• Top Reading Minutes for a student - Receives a stuffed pet
• Top Reading Minutes average per program - Receives an ice cream party

The Great Starts Readiness Program and Strong Beginnings Preschool are both accepting applications for fall enrollment. Please contact https://greatstartcass.org/childcare-preschool/gsrp/ to submit your application for 4 year old and 3 year old preschool options.

March 22nd - 24th - Spring Musical - Beauty and the Beast

March 25th - Board of Education Meeting, 7:00 PM

March 27th - Multi-age ( Canarecci, Green, K. Clark, L. Clark and Smith) Music Performance at the PAC, 7:00 PM

March 29th - End of Grading Period, Early Dismissal, Good Friday

April 1st - 5th - Spring Break

This past week all students in K/1 participated in our annual Jump-a-thon. This replaced the event that is on the calendar for March 2nd. By moving the event to during the school day, all of our students were able to participate. I especially enjoyed stopping in throughout the day to jumap and dance with our students!

I want to thank our Board of Education President, Chelsea Wilson, for purchasing frogs for us to have fun with on Leap Day! The frogs were fun for everyone!!!
