Happy New Year!

It was AMAZING to see so many smiling (and some sleepy) faces back in the building on Thursday. So much of our work is, simply put, children and quite honestly it is rather dull around here when they are on break! I hope you had time to relax, enjoy activities with family and enjoy all the things that a long break has to offer!

Important Dates:

• 1/6/25- 5th grade FLAMS Parent Information Night @ 6pm at Forest Lake Middle School (watch for additional emails from Principal Miller)

• 1/9/25- Student Ambassador Meeting

• 1/10/25- Art and Academic Showcase Forms DUE

• UPDATED: 1/14/25- 6th grade Band Performances and Information Night @ 6pm at Forest Lake Middle School (watch for additional emails from Principal Miller)

• UPDATED: 1/16/25- 6th grade Orchestra (6:00pm) and Choice (7:15pm) Performances and Information Night @ Forest Lake Middle School (watch for additional emails from Principal Miller)

• 1/20/25- No School- Martin Luther King Day

• 1/24/25- End of Semester

• 1/27/25- No School- Teacher Professional Development Day

Art and Academic Showcase information went home in back packs today! Check it out. We cannot wait to see what our students bring to the showcase this year!

Date To Remember:

• Jan 10: Submission Due
• Jan 30: Project Check-In/ Drop off from 3:30-6:00pm
• Jan 31: Art and Academic Showcase 5:30-7:30pm @ Scandia

***Classes with 80% of students with projects in the showcase will be treated to an ice cream party!

Classes with 100% of students with projects in the showcase will have a pizza party! Both sponsored by our amazing Scandia PTO team!

Our next PTO meeting is will be Tuesday, January 14th at 4pm in the Scandia Media Center.

Join Us in Inspiring Young Readers!

This January, the Forest Lake Ranger Marching Band Leadership Team is collecting new and gently used children's books for younger Ranger Readers.

How to Donate:

• What: New or gently used children's books
• Where: Drop-off box in your school office
• When: During regular school hours

Note: Damaged books will be recycled. Books not suited for preschool and elementary ages will be donated elsewhere.

Your donation brings stories to life for young readers. Thank you for your support! Contact jmatheson@flaschools.org with questions.

The 2025 FL Marching Band Leadership Team is composed of 24 high school students. They support and enhance the marching band as well as perform acts of service for our schools and community. Thank you for your support!
