Nelson Wood Shims is offering a scholarship of $1,000 to a GRHS senior who demonstrates financial need. If you fill out the Thunderhawk Application, you can just do the essay & have a letter of recommendation sent. Nelson Wood Shims Application link (make your own google doc copy)

MN State Horticultural Society Scholarships are offered to students with interest and participation in horticultural/gardening activities. Ranging from $250-$600 Deadline March 15

Short essay (at least 200 words) describing your involvement/experiences in horticulture and gardening.

Repeat: Blandin Foundation Scholarships- Apply until March 1

Blandin Foundation Scholarships - Receive a grant up to $6,000 per year based Student Aid Index (SAI) from the FAFSA under 30,000 Must apply every year in school and can apply until age 25 if pursuing a degree. Deadline: Mar 1

Lake Country Power Les Beach Memorial HS Scholarship:

Seniors can apply for $4,000 scholarships ($1,000 each year for 4 years) from Lake Co Power. Parent/Guardian must be a member of Lake Country Power; GPA 2.5 or higher; Essay and 2 letters of recommendation are required.

Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation (GRACF.org) Scholarship Application Deadline: March 1

Application contains 140 scholarships totaling $170k from local businesses, organizations and individuals.

Thunderhawk Scholarship - Due Feb 20

Thunderhawk Scholarship Application is the common application for GRHS managed local scholarships. Contact Heidi Clairmont at hclairmont@isd318.org with any questions or issues. Due Feb 20

Eligibility: All graduating Seniors of Grand Rapids High School or Area Learning Center who are continuing their education after high school are eligible to apply. This can be a public or private technical college, community college, or four-year college or university, both in person and virtually.

The application is now open and families should complete it ASAP! Students will need one to apply for the Blandin Foundation Scholarships.
