Wildcat Weekly November 22, 2024

Happy Friday Wildcats!

We made it to Thanksgiving Break! Thank you for all of your hard work these last 5 weeks since Fall Break. I know we could all use the week off, so I hope you are able to take time to rest, enjoy family and friends, and, of course, some good food! I am incredibly thankful to be a part of this Sagewood community and to be surrounded by such dedicated professionals and educators. You all come every day with a commitment to our kids and to make a positive impact. I couldn't be more proud and appreciative of all of your incredibly hard work, the hours you put in outside of school, and the way you take care of our kids every single day.

As we wrap up November, we come back to December and our December staff meeting will be on Tuesday, December 3rd and ALL staff are invited. We will recognize each other with Wildcat Wonder Awards. Please consider submitting a nomination for a fellow staff member. And then we will have our White Elephant gift exchange. It will be a great time, so please plan on attending. Don't worry on spending money on anything. More info below on what we had last year!

I also want to mention how appreciative I am for all our teachers and their work on the 15 day challenge this quarter, going through an entire PLC cycle. With PLCs being one of our big main rocks, this has been a crucial step in helping us to move forward!

Please consider nominating a colleague for a Wildcat Wonder award. We will recognize staff at our December staff meeting.

The weeks around school breaks can be stressful and chaotic. Let's focus on the positive these next 3 weeks until winter break by giving out PBIS Points! The PRIDE team is challenging teachers to give out a minimum of 10 points per day to students displaying Passion Respect Integrity Determination and/or Empathy!

8th Grade will be finishing the reflection from the 8th grade Career Expo and a mini lesson. More info to come

6th and 7th grade will be a doing a lesson on Community from Wayfinder to follow up from our I am activity we did last week. We'll send out details on that at the beginning of next week.

Purple schedule change forms need to be used by teachers and Learning Specialists for 2nd Semester schedule changes (due to Brigette by December 9th)

At our next staff meeting, we will be hosting a White Elephant Gift Exchange! What that looks like is every participant will bring a 'gift' from home. Last year's highlights ranged from a 'borrowed' construction sign to a fun puzzle to an entire collection of Bill Nye the Science Guy dvds to a small vacuum for your computer and lots in between! Gifts should be wrapped; we'll explain the rest of the rules in December!

Thanksgiving break is a GREAT time to search around for a fun contribution; I've already got mine picked out and ready to go!

This is art teacher Hannah Schoenemann's first year at SGMS. She lived in Texas for the last 10 years and previously went to England- on accident! Hannah moved to Parker this summer to be closer to family who live in the Springs. She enjoys reading and paddleboarding. Hannah is trying to get back into running and loves going to concerts and book signings!
