Welcome Panthers!
August 13, 2024
Dear Madrona Elementary Families,
Welcome to a new and exciting school year at Madrona Elementary School! We hope you had a wonderful summer filled with joy, relaxation, and memorable moments with your friends and family. As we gear up for the start of the new academic year, we are thrilled to reconnect with you and your children.
Our instructional team has been preparing a fun and enriching year for our beautiful students. We have planned engaging lessons, celebratory school activities, and numerous opportunities for your child to grow both academically and socially. Our dedicated staff is eager to meet their new students and continue building a positive and supportive learning environment for all.
This year, we are focusing on improving student attendance and elevating our students' voices! We are also extremely excited to partner with you to ensure that every child has a successful and enjoyable year. Communication and collaboration between school and home are key to our students' success, so please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Here are a few important reminders as we head into the school year:
- Kindergarten Jump Start: August 19, 20, 21st from 8:00 am - 11:00 am. This is not an open house or a drop-in session. This is a time for our new Panthers to enjoy their new school community as a cohort and engage in literacy, math, science, and social emotional activities with their teachers. For more information, please email Principal Carter @ recarter@seattleschools.org.
- First Day of School: September 4th for students in 1st - 5th grade. Kindergarten and Pre-School begin school on September 9th. We look forward to seeing all our students bright and early!
- School Hours: 7:55 am to 2:25 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 7:55 am to 1:10 pm on Wednesdays. Please ensure your child arrives on time and is picked up promptly.
We encourage you to stay engaged throughout the year by reading our monthly newsletters, attending school events, and participating in our school community. Together, we can make this year a memorable and successful one for every student.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Let's make this school year the best one yet!
Warm regards,
Regina Carter
Proud Principal of Madrona Elementary School
