Meet the Counselor
Ms. Jess Thunberg
Hi Monte Vista families! Allow me to introduce myself! I was born and raised in Simi Valley and grew up going to school right here in SVUSD. When I am not at work, you can find me at country music concerts, Dodger games, or local farmers markets. A fun fact about me is that I adopted a cat during the Covid lockdown and she has since become my pride and joy!
I received my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychological and Brain Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In May of this year, I earned my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from California Lutheran University. As a former graduate of SVUSD, I am especially excited to serve current Simi Valley students and make a positive impact in their educational journey! Please feel free to stop by and introduce yourself, my door is always open.
College & Career Readiness
A-G Requirements
The A-G requirements are a set of classes that students need to take in order to be eligible for admission at California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) schools. Many other colleges and universities have similar requirements for admission. Students must pass these classes with a grade of a C or better in order to meet the requirments. Track your A-G progress and graduation status using Monte Vista's 4 Year Planner and Tracker.
