2024-25 Schedules
Student schedules for the 2024-25 school year are now available on ParentVUE. All decisions on staffing and course offerings are direct reflections of the course requests of the over 2,000 ON students during online enrollment last spring. Please review the following before requesting a schedule change:
- Schedules may continue to change between now and the first day of school as classes are being balanced and the master schedule is being adjusted.
- Due to limited course offerings, you may not get every course that you requested during enrollment in the spring. Additionally, schedule changes may not be possible.
- Changing one class may result in rearranging some or all of your other class hours. Your counselor will not be able to move them back.
- Changes in course level (on-level to AP/Honors or Honors/AP to on-level) or international language courses require parent permission. To make changes, please ask your parent to email your counselor.
- If you would like to drop a special permission/audition course (band, orchestra, choir, yearbook, newspaper, AVID), please discuss your plans with the director/teacher before requesting a change. Please also request that your parent to email your counselor with their permission.
- Changes to 21st Century Academy enrollment or course selections must go through program facilitators.
- Counselors cannot honor teacher or hour requests as it will cause classes to be unbalanced.
Students: if you would like to request a schedule change, please EMAIL your counselor. Only students with holes in their schedules will be permitted to go to the office during class time.
Back to School Transition Tips
Reset Your Sleep Schedule: Start setting your alarm earlier and go to bed sooner. Quality sleep is incredibly powerful!
Embrace Your Emotions: The beginning of a new school year can bring a mix of excitement and anxiety. It's okay to feel both. Allow yourself to experience these emotions.
Visualize Your Day: Think about what you’re excited about. As Barkhordari (2023) suggests, “Generating excitement can lead to increased effort, energy, and the willingness to make sacrifices to achieve what matters most. Imagine applying this knowledge to your relationships, teams, or clients.” Read more here. What excites you about this year? It could be getting back into a routine, seeing your friends or your favorite teacher, etc.
Get to Know the School Calendar: Stay informed by checking out the school calendar here.

Any situation that causes an interruption in the learning process is a serious educational concern. Students who are finding school difficult because of poor study skills, adjustment concerns, or relationships with others can find help through the clinic. Parents who want to learn more effective ways of encouraging and motivating children in school can also turn to the clinic.
The H.E.L.P. Clinic is a service provided by the Olathe Public Schools. All services are free of charge to any student enrolled in the Olathe Public Schools, either in a remote environment or onsite.
- Individual and family counseling consists of short-term counseling (six sessions) for students and their families.
- Small group counseling with other grade-level or near grade-level peers serve those who would thrive learning and growing from a group structure. Groups would meet for six sessions.
- Play therapy is a technique where the child's natural means of expression, namely play, is used as a therapeutic method to assist him/her in coping with stress or life difficulties. Play therapy is used effectively at the H.E.L.P. Clinic with children ages 5 to 8 years old. Play therapy may not be used with every child and is available on a limited basis.
The H.E.L.P. Clinic is staffed by professional school counselors, school psychologists, social workers and other school-based mental health providers. All clinicians are Olathe Public Schools employees or retired employees who have an active license in school mental health. These accredited and experienced professionals have a sincere interest in assisting students and families to better deal with challenges that impact students' abilities to achieve educational success.
Enrollment information is available in the brochure mentioned above.
