Middle School ROund-Robin Basketball - March 31 - Hosted by Middle School Student Council
The CSP Student Council is excited to announce that our annual Middle School March Madness Tournament will take place on Monday, March 31st, in the CSP Gymnasium from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Students in grades 6-8 are invited to either register a team and play in the tournament or attend the event as a spectator. We already have three teams signed up and are hoping to get at least four to fill out our bracket! Sign-ups will close at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 28th to allow our Student Council leaders to create the schedule. Depending on the number of teams that register, we will either play a double or single elimination bracket.
Spectator tickets cost $3 each or $5 for admission, a drink, and a snack. Tickets go on sale TODAY and can be purchased in person during "A" lunch or online using this link.
Students attending as spectators must have their own transportation home after the event. All students must leave CSP promptly at 5:00 pm as no staff members will be able to supervise them after the conclusion of the tournament.
Please contact Mrs. Clyde at eclyde@mycsp.org with any questions.

PBIS Incentives
Hello CSP Families!
As you may know, CSP is a PBIS school. This means that we aim to support student behavior through positive interactions and interventions. As part of our PBIS practice, teachers and staff members reward students with Tiger Tickets when they act in ways that demonstrate Tiger PRIDE.
At the end of every week, we conduct a lunch time raffle with these tickets and students choose a reward. Additionally, we count how many Tiger Tickets each student receives each week. At the end of the quarter, the students who earn the most Tiger Tickets are also rewarded with various prizes.
At the mid-year point, we are finding we need to refresh our rewards. Recently, we asked students to share their suggestions for PBIS rewards. Using their suggestions, we have compiled an PBIS Amazon WishList. Please consider contributing to CSP and PBIS by purchasing items from the list.

Information about Senior Events
Graduation will be here before we know it, and Iād like to take this opportunity to share some important information with you.
Beginning in 2017, AACPS adopted a Latin Honors System to recognize the academic achievement of our outstanding seniors during the commencement. This tradition will continue this year. As in previous years, we will have the Senior Class President bring welcome remarks and introduce distinguished guests. Mr. Owens will provide notice to all summa cum laude seniors that they have the opportunity to apply to be the graduate student speaker. The student speaker will be selected by a school-based committee from a pool of applicants that have earned the Summa Cum Laude Honor. The selection will occur no later than April 25, and the school-based decision will be final. This is subject to change depending upon receipt of notification of Latin award honorees.
CAP AND GOWN
All seniors participating in the graduation ceremony must be dressed in proper regalia. Mr. Mahoney, the representative from Jostens, visited CSP on February 25 from 10:00 -10:15 am to discuss ordering the cap and gown. Mr. Mahoney also shared information about ordering announcements and other senior memorabilia. The Grad QR Flyer below allows you to place orders directly, if you haven't done so.

Preparing for Technology 2025-2026
Device Recommendations for CSP Families
Many parents have asked for recommended devices for their students. The most important requirement is that the Chromebook must still be eligible for updates.
You can check the update availability for Chromebooks here: https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6220366?sjid=2181313923428552580-NA#zippy=%2Chp:~:text=Chromebook%2011%20G9,Jun%202031

College Visits
Students missing school for college visits are excused absent if they bring in something from the college stating they visited there. Students should bring their college visit notes to Mrs. O'Brien.
Attendance
When students are absent from school, AACPS sends messages to families to ensure student safety and open communication. For convenience and equity, messages are sent through two communication tools:
Alerts - the AACPS automated contact system provides one message per day for elementary students and two messages per day for middle and high school students. A morning message is sent to families of all absent students via phone, email, and text at 11 a.m. The second message is sent via email and text to families of absent middle and high school students at 5:30 p.m.
Parent Portal sends notifications in real time when a student is marked absent for the school day or a specific class period. In order to receive Parent Portal notifications, parents/guardians must have proper accounts and notifications turned on in their settings. Access to Parent Portal is available for families of students in grades K-12. Parents/guardians can also send attendance notes directly to their student's school via Parent Portal. Visit www.aacps.org/parentportal to sign up or learn more.
For information on how to support student attendance, visit www.aacps.org/attendance.
Are you interested in being added to CSP's list of Approved Volunteers/Chaperones?

Sexual Harassment & Child Abuse Training Video
Everyone who applies to be a Volunteer/Chaperone for AACPS, upon approval, must view the Sexual Harassment/Child Abuse Training Video prior to the volunteer/chaperone having access to students. Failure to do so will result in a disapproval status for access until the video is viewed.
