Rough Rider Review

PSAT is Wednesday, Oct 2 for all 9th- 11th graders. 12th graders will need to arrive by 12:00 and check in with Coach Murphy, Coach Lee or Coach Rheinberger at the breezeway gates and will then go to Portable 8. We will run a “Thursday” bell schedule so when testing is finished all students will go to their 4th period.

Bus Route Information

Smart passes are to be given out by your bus driver throughout the first weeks of school. Students will be given one free replacement, all replacements after the first will be $2.00. For any questions about buses or Smart passes, please go to the AP Office.

Students that have received a "No Credit" in a class for the Fall Semester can attend Saturday School. If you have questions about hours, please contact your child's Assistant Principal.

Students must bring their Student ID and enough school work for five hours. Students must reserve their spot using the Google Form link below, and pay in full before the deadline. No exceptions.

All 12th grade students will take the ACT on Wednesday, Oct 23.

All students should join the Google Classroom for their graduating class to receive updates and important information. Parents/Guardians cannot join these Google Classrooms but can elect to receive summaries about material posted. See below for the Join Codes:

Students who are interested in joining the military can sign up to take the ASVAB test on Thursday, Oct 10 with Ms. Bauer in the College & Career Center.

Students enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) classes will need to be registered in AP Classroom no later than Tuesday, Oct 8 in order to register for AP tests in May 2025. The window to pay for AP tests opens October 11th and closes November 12th. The correlation between excellent grades and excellent attendance is undeniable! Your child’s attendance is also tied to their ability to receive high school credit. If your child has 10 or more absences in a class during a semester, they lose credit in that class. Let’s work together to ensure that our students receive credits and stay on track to graduate. Parking

Student Parking-Tickets will be issued starting on 9/3/2024

Students driving to school can park in the student parking lot located across the street from the football fields on Ray Bon. Parking passes can be purchased from the AP Office for $30, with a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Students should not park in the Trufit or shopping center across from Roosevelt. Your car may be subjected to be towed if you park in this area.

Parent Parking

Parents, please park in the designated visitors parking lot next to the tennis courts. Do not leave your car unattended in the parent pick-up or bus loop.

Students using the student parking lot, please look both ways before crossing Ray Bon. All students need to use the crossing between the parking lot and the football field. Report any suspicious activities to the AP Office.

Parent Pick-up/Drop Off

Parents, please do not park on Ray Bon or other traffic lanes. Please use the parent Pick-up/Drop-Off area. These areas are monitored to make sure your student is safe on campus. Please drive with caution on Ray Bon and watch for students crossing.

Our campus is a closed campus. Students are not to leave campus without being signed out by a parent/guardian in the office. Failure to comply with this directive may result in disciplinary action by administration.

Students are not allowed to have food deliveries to Roosevelt campus at any time (from Uber Eats, Grubhub, restaurants, etc). Thank you for your understanding.

Students will be taking their photos here on campus October 30th, 31st, and November 1st. Please remind your child to not wear a costume on Halloween if they haven't taken their photo on the 30th. Retakes will be on January 9th.

Seniors will be taking their Cap and Gown Photos on October 17-18th in the auditorium. Cap and gown will be provided for students including any stoles. Senior retakes are January 8th. Please contact Lifetouch for any questions on pricing.

Seniors that have Senior Release need to make sure they have their ID to exit campus after 6th period. If you do not have the special Senior Release ID, please visit the AP Office during your lunch or 7th/8th period to get one created. Only Seniors with Senior Release on their schedule will receive these special IDs.

Senior Release Students are not allowed anywhere on campus, this includes the library during their release time. Students are allowed to ask for a pass with a specific teacher for tutoring.

Melissa Mendiola is Roosevelt's Family Engagement Specialist. She is available to assist with any needs or issues in a student's home life that can negatively affect a student's ability to excel at school. She is able to provide support and services for all students and their families, creating a true connection between home, school, and community. The family specialist's role is to bridge the gap of communication between parents, the school, and the community and provide resources to families who are experiencing barriers, and to empower all parents to fulfill their role as child’s first teacher.
