Principal Update
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are almost halfway through Quarter 3, and we want to remind you to stay engaged with your child's progress. Please log into PowerSchool to check on grades for students in 1st through 8th grade. If you have any concerns or questions about your child's performance, we encourage you to reach out to their teacher directly.
Currently, we are seeing a significant number of middle school students with missing assignments and zeros, which is leading to failing grades. We understand that we are all part of a team in supporting our students, and your involvement is critical to their success. We appreciate your help in addressing any academic concerns.
Additionally, please remember that the Intent to Return process begins on Monday, February 3rd. If you wish to secure your child's seat for the upcoming school year, it is very important to complete this task. We are aiming for 100% completion and would greatly appreciate your cooperation in this effort.

School Attendance and Extra-Curricular Activities
Students must be in attendance for half of the school day in order to participate in special events, and/or programs. THIS INCLUDES DRAMA, ATHLETIC PRACTICES/GAMES, CLUBS, OR ANY OTHER EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.

Reminders
Middle School ID'S
All MYP scholars must wear their ID at all times per our Uniform Policy. Should we need to reprint an ID, Power School account will be charged $10 for each replacement.
SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY!
Please remember to use the crosswalk when walking from the parking lot to the school door.
COLD WEATHER ATTIRE
Non-Franklin outerwear is NOT permitted to be worn unless the temperature is 40 degrees or below. Scholars ARE permitted to wear a white or navy long sleeve shirt under their uniform shirt. Black or navy leggings are also permitted to be worn under uniform skirts.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Cell phones must be turned off and in backpacks at all times while scholars are on campus. In addition, smartwatches are not permitted to be worn during school hours.
SIBLING LINK REMINDER
MYP scholars without a PYP sibling are not permitted to be dropped off before the designated arrival time of 8:15AM. This information is outlined in our Parent Contract which is signed by each family upon registering at our campus. Additionally, Franklin Academy will charge $1.00 per minute for those students requiring supervision prior to the designated arrival time. This also occurs with those students for late parent pick up after the designated time in the afternoon. Safety is a top priority, and we must ensure that all students are being properly supervised at all times. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Torres.
Parent Contract: No Dropping Off Early – I/we shall not drop off my/our child before the scheduled time appropriate for grade level, as determined by school policy.

FortifyFL - See something, say something
FortifyFL is a suspicious activity reporting tool that allows students to instantly relay information to appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials.
QUICK AND EASY SAFETY TIP SUBMISSION
By accessing FortifyFL, students can provide a description of the threat, share pics, and videos and optionally submit their contact information. Submissions can be anonymous or non-anonymous. Submitting a tip is quick and easy using our mobile app or website.
All Franklin Academy students have access to FortifyFL via their Clever portal dashboard.
News from the PTO
PTO Membership
Help make the 2024-2025 year be our best yet by joining the PTO. Membership is $15 per family. Joining PTO entitles you to preferred access to volunteering at our top events like Franklin Feast, Field Day & more. Our first PTO meeting is in person on September 11th at 6PM.
