A Note of Gratitude
As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to take a moment to reflect on the positivity and partnership that made this week so special. Parent-teacher conferences provided meaningful opportunities to communicate about student progress and strengthen the home-school connection. We are truly grateful for the time and care our families dedicate to their child’s school experience—your involvement makes all the difference!
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to making this week so successful. The wonderful staff luncheon during conferences was such a thoughtful way to keep our team fueled and energized—thank you to the organizers and contributors for your generosity! We also appreciate the volunteers who helped at the Book Fair and those who supported the Highland Orchards fundraiser and pie pick-up. Your efforts bring joy and connection to our school community.
To give our staff the opportunity to truly pause and enjoy time with their loved ones after a busy week, I ask that you pause email communication to staff for the holiday weekend. This break will allow them to recharge and return refreshed for the week ahead. Communication with staff will resume on Monday, December 2. We thank you for your understanding as we prioritize balance and well-being for all.
Wishing you and your families a holiday filled with warmth, gratitude, and togetherness!
Fern Hill Giving Tree
Starting Monday, our Giving Tree will be set up in the school lobby. Conference week brings many families through our hallways and we want to offer families the chance to support others in need this holiday season. We invite you to take a tag and help make a bobcat's holiday a little brighter. Your generosity ensures that every child in our school community feels the warmth and joy of the season. Thank you for making a difference!
PE Update - Football Unit Finished for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades!
Dear Fern Hill Families,
We’re wrapping up an exciting football unit for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders! Over the past few weeks, students have honed their skills in passing, catching, and teamwork through drills and fun, competitive games.
Here’s what they accomplished:
Mastered the Basics: Throwing spirals, catching, and learning game strategies.
Teamwork: Collaborating with peers to execute plays effectively.
Active Fun: Staying fit while enjoying the game.
This unit has been a fantastic opportunity to develop sportsmanship, coordination, and a love for active play. Encourage your child to share what they’ve learned—maybe even toss a football around at home!
Stay active,
Mr. Usilton

Library Volunteers Needed
The Fern Hill library is in need of volunteers to help reshelve books, general tidying, and to assist Mr. Bloome with other library tasks as needed. Schedules can be flexible during school hours. Check out the attachment for more information and to sign up!
Volunteer Clearances
We love having our families volunteer throughout the building. In order to volunteer, adults are required to have their clearances on file with us. Clearances can take 4-6 weeks to acquire, so please be sure to get the process started if you're looking to volunteer this Fall.
