Moving Mountains in a Major Way.......
Dear All-Star Families,
I hope this message finds you well. As we continue our journey through this school year, I want to highlight the critical importance of school attendance and our Saturday tutorials for grades 3-5, which are vital to your child’s success.
Regular attendance is foundational to academic achievement. Recent data indicates that our elementary school attendance rate is currently at 95.21%, which is a significant accomplishment, but we know we can do even better. Research shows that students who attend school regularly are more likely to succeed academically, develop strong relationships with peers and teachers, and feel more connected to their school community.
Every day in the classroom is an opportunity for learning and growth, and when students miss school, they miss out on crucial instructional time. Each absence can set back a child’s progress, and we want every child to have the chance to reach their full potential.
To support our students further, we have implemented a series of Saturday tutorial sessions designed to reinforce learning and address any gaps in understanding. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity for extra help in core subjects, and if your child is enrolled, we encourage you to ensure your child attends these tutorials. They are specifically tailored to meet the needs of our students and help them excel.
We ask for your continued support in encouraging you to make sure your child attends school every day and participate in tutorials. Together, we can create a culture of attendance that prioritizes learning and success. Your involvement makes a tremendous difference in the lives of our children, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.
Thank you for being our partners in education. Let’s continue to work together to keep the momentum going and ensure that our students are present and engaged. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are Moving Mountains!
Yours for an opportunity to serve,
Ursula Gordon-Higginbotham
Principal

Breakfast is served at 7:45 a.m. Like last year, the bus loop pick up and drop off pattern will be along the back of the building and car riders will be dropped off at the front of the building through the car rider line in the morning and the opposite afterschool. Please remember that car riders can’t be dropped off in the parking lot or on the street (scholars must remain in the car). Students are considered tardy after 8:05 a.m. and parents are considered late after 3:50 p.m. Please remember dismissal begins at 3:25 p.m.
