November Attendance Challenge!
Did you know that there are only 12 school days in November? We know our Baltz Bears are always up for a challenge, especially if it comes with a special REWARD! For each day you attend school in November, fill in a Bear Paw. Students who collect all 12 paws will be able to participate in a special event that you do not want to miss!
Believing...Achieving...Learning...Team Building ...with Zeal! We are BALTZ!
This year's theme is Ready. Set. Grow! We will focus growing student achievement through a dedicated approach to equity and many other ways that our students can take actions to be safe, be kind, and be on-task!
Dear Baltz Families,
We hope this message finds you well!
We have an exciting week ahead, filled with opportunities to come together as a school community and celebrate learning!
We can't wait for the MTSS Turkey Trot on Friday! See the flyer attached. Thank you to the MTSS Tier 1 Team for coordinating this fun fall event for our students.
First, a special thank you to the families who attended the Bears Den meeting on Wednesday evening. Your ideas and collaboration were invaluable as we discussed future events and brainstormed ways to better support our students. Based on our conversation, we will be sending out a survey soon to gather your input on how to best utilize our Title I funds to enhance student achievement. Your voice is essential in shaping these decisions!
We also want to express gratitude to the families and students who have been contributing to the coin drive for our Share the Fair initiative. Your generosity is helping us ensure students have access to books, fostering a love of reading. A big thank-you to Miss Personti for leading this wonderful effort once again—your dedication is truly appreciated!
A quick note regarding dismissal procedures. For the safety and efficiency of our students and staff, we kindly ask families to determine if their child will be a walker or a car rider and do their best to stick to that method of dismissal consistently. When students are not in the expected dismissal locations it creates confusion and potential safety concerns. Additionally, we ask families to limit early dismissals as much as possible, so that students do not miss out on important learning opportunities. Please note that we have a closed campus after 3:15 PM, and early dismissal will not be honored after this time unless previously arranged due to an extenuating circumstance. Thank you for helping ensure a safe and orderly dismissal process for everyone.
Don’t forget that Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up, and we are aiming for 100% participation. This is the most important conference of the year, providing a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and ways we can work together to support their growth at home. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to sign up and join us in this important partnership.
Tomorrow evening, Monday, November 18th, is our Chick-fil-A Spirit Night! From 4:30 to 7:30 PM, come join us by dining in or driving through. Your participation supports our Baltz community and helps us continue to grow together.
As November continues, we are also celebrating several district-wide initiatives:
• National Native American Heritage Month reminds us to honor the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Native American communities. Let’s learn, share, and grow together as we explore their enduring legacy.
• National Family Literacy Month highlights the power of reading together as a family. Whether sharing a favorite story, exploring new books, or learning something new, family reading time builds strong connections and a lifelong love of learning. Our Scholastic Book Fair, perfectly timed for this special month, is a great opportunity to discover new books for your family to enjoy together.
• This week is also American Education Week, a time to celebrate the dedication of teachers, staff, and families who work tirelessly to create a remarkable learning environment. Let’s take a moment to thank those who inspire, uplift, and shape the future every day!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we make Baltz a truly special place. Let’s make it another fantastic week!
Warm regards! Ready, Set, Grow!!!
Ms. Gallagher, Mrs. Palma and Mr. Wright

A Message from Mrs. Personti
$1,089.60 Raised!
Thanks to your incredible generosity, that's the total amount donated so far to the Share the Fair Coin Donation Drive! Your kindness and support mean the world to our Baltz community. I’m beyond excited to see how many books we’ll be able to gift to each Baltz Bear once the Donation Drive wraps up.
We’re now entering the second—and final—week of the drive, so let’s finish strong!
Important Reminders:
- The Scholastic Book Fair will be open during conferences the week of November 25th.
- Students will shop the fair during their library special the week of December 2nd.
For exact times, eWallet sign-up, and more information, visit the Baltz Scholastic Book Fair Site.
Thank you for helping us make a difference!
100% of the funds raised through the Share the Fair Coin Donation Drive go directly back to our school. If we don’t raise enough to provide a free book for every student, I will ensure that each classroom is stocked with new books for their libraries. After all, there’s no such thing as too many books!
Here’s how you can help:
- Coin Donations: From Tuesday, November 12 to Friday, November 22, students can bring in coins and drop them into their classroom’s donation bank. Every little bit adds up!
- eWallet Donations: When you sign your child up for a FREE eWallet through our Book Fair website (www.scholastic.com/bf/baltzfall2024), you can add an additional donation to the Share the Fair Fund. It’s quick and easy!
- In-Person Donations: When you visit the Book Fair in person, from November 25-27 for families and December 2-6 for students, you can round up your purchase to the nearest dollar, with the extra going toward our donation drive.
- Donate to the School-wide eWallet: If the eWallet is not for you, you can still contribute directly to our school-wide eWallet here: Donate to Baltz’s Share the Fair eWallet.
No donation is too small, and every contribution makes a big difference. Your support is greatly appreciated as we work together to ensure every Baltz Bear has access to the joy of reading!
Thank you for helping make our Book Fair a success!
With Love,
Mrs. Personti

Early Dismissal Reminder
Families, please be sure to use the online attendance request form when submitting an absence. Please note that all medical notes/excuses from a physician's office must still be turned in.
Please call us if you need help with attendance. We will do our best to listen and partner with you so that our children have a successful year! We are working to make our school environment a place where everyone can be safe, healthy and learning. Review the Attendance Matters flyers posted below to learn why daily attendance at school is so important for your child/children. We ask our families to do their best to ensure that students are on time each day, and that early dismissals are limited to emergencies only. Students are engaged in class instruction until 3:45 PM daily. Please use the Red Clay calendar posted below to assist with planning during days off/vacation. Thank you for your support.

Safety Reminders for Arrival & Dismissal
Please do not pass stopped vehicles! Help us keep our Baltz Bears safe!
Please help us to keep our parking lot and crosswalks safe! Use extreme caution when dropping off or picking up students from school. Drive slowly and watch for children at all times. Please adhere to the guidelines and procedures when entering and exiting the school parking lot.
ARRIVAL:
Drive your vehicle single file through the drop-off lane. Arrival staff will direct you to move to the cone as far up as possible. Once you have moved to the cone as far up as possible, wait for arrival staff to open the passenger side door for your child/children to get out. After your student(s) have exited your vehicle, please wait for the vehicles in front of you to be directed to begin moving, and follow the line in a single file lane to exit the school parking lot safely.
DISMISSAL
Parents who arrive by car should join the car line. We have received reports about neighborhood traffic congestion and blocked roadways/driveways. Parking nearby and walking over is not permitted. For parents of children picking up by car, please stay in your car and enter the car line on the district side of the building.
Please be sure that your car tag is clearly displayed in your window. Move up as far as possible so that the maximum number of vehicles can enter the car line. As you drive through the car line, and pull into your pick up lane, PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY, as we have many students boarding cars, and staff members assisting them.
Thank you for working hard to keep our children safe, by avoiding the use of cell phones and being mindful of other distractions while driving on our school campus.
As a reminder, please review our full arrival and dismissal procedures (posted previously) below.
