A Message from Your Principal
Dear Archer Glen Families,
We have had a very successful return from Spring Break! This time of year can feel like living in two worlds - enjoying all the fun springtime has to offer while at the same time continuing making plans for the next year. It's a good reminder to enjoy each day as it comes.
As for right now, one of our big spring events is approaching. The Archer Glen Carnival! Save the date for April 26th from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The carnival helps raise money for our school and, most importantly, is a fun night for the whole family. There will be carnival games, a dunk tank, and prizes.
I'd also like to remind our parents and caregivers to take a few minutes to complete the Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey. This is a new survey and your feedback is very important. It will be used to identify bright spots in our schools and district, as well as help to create plans for improvements. The survey is open through Thursday, April 11.
Finally, I'd like to welcome Sarah Woofter as Archer Glen's next principal. She is coming to us from Collier County in Florida where she spent 20 years teaching and leading in a variety of roles. Her last assignment was as the principal of Herbert Cambridge Elementary. Mrs. Woofter brings a wealth of experience and a strong desire to connect with our school community. As an Archer Glen parent, I can't be more excited to have Ms. Woofter join our team.
Thank you all and have a wonderful weekend!

Reminder - State Testing Notice
As a reminder, Oregon's Statewide Assessments in science, mathematics, and English language arts will begin later this month for students in grades 3-8.
Scheduled testing will take place during the school day. For additional information on the State Assessments from the Oregon Department of Education, please review the following link.
While no single test can give a complete picture of your child’s progress, statewide tests provide information to students and families, as well as to educators and administrators, about what educational approaches are working and where additional resources are needed. Your child’s participation is important to ensure schools and districts receive the targeted resources they need to help all students succeed. Districts are rated on their participation levels as well as student performance on this exam.
Oregon law (ORS 329.479) permits parents and adult students to annually opt-out of Oregon’s statewide summative tests in English Language Arts and Math by submitting a form to the school the student attends. If you decide to opt your child out of the math and/or ELA state assessments, please submit the following form to your school front office by Friday, April 12 to best support our school with planning for this year's testing schedule:
