A Word From Principal Rosenberg
Greeting Parents/Guardians:
It seems like summer wants to hang on for a bit. I hope this note finds all of you happy and healthy. Speaking of healthy, if you are celebrating your child’s birthday and want to include his/her class, please bring in treats that are from a store and bound in their original wrapping. I would be the first to say that homemade cupcakes are delicious and better than anything you could buy from a store. However, we have students with allergies, and we don’t want a child to go into anaphylactic shock because of something they ate.
Here are some upcoming events:
· 9/16 Fall Picture Day
· 9/16-9/20 Book Fair
· 9/17 Site Council / Family Engagement Meeting 3:45
· 9/18, 9/19, 9/20 Parent-Teacher Conferences - early dismissal at 12:25
· 9/27 Student of the Month Aug / Sep at Community Time 9:30
o Please send your child to school in Bobcat Blue
· 9/30 First Cross country Meet at Reid Park from 4:00-5:30
Lastly the Banks Community would like to send deep condolences to the family of a former student, Gabriel Espinoza, who passed away this week and to the family of Donald Harms, whose funeral was this week in the Phoenix area.
We look forward to seeing you at parent-teacher conferences. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Go Bobcats!

Curriculum Updates
Mrs. Stevens, Curriculum Service Provider
Hello Bobcat Families!
Our Kindergarten through 3rd grade students are finishing the DIBELS reading assessment. Our Kindergarten through 6th grade students are also completing a ELA(Reading) and Math diagnostic to help us identify the skills students have mastered and those that may need to be retaught or targeted. Your child’s teacher will go over your child’s results at Parent Teacher Conferences in September. If you have not signed up for a conference time, please contact your child’s teacher.
Quarter 1 District Benchmark Assessments begin September 23rd. 2nd through 6th grade students will complete an English Language Arts and Math assessment to determine their mastery of grade level standards. Your child’s teacher will share the testing schedule with you as the date approaches. Please talk with your child about taking their time and doing their best so that the data is an accurate reflection of what they know. We also ask that students get a good night’s sleep, eat breakfast and come to school on time ready to ROCK the TEST!
Thank you for your supportive partnership in your child’s education!
Proud to be a part of this Bobcat Community! Rachel Stevens, Banks CSP
