It's the Final Countdown!
The last month of school has arrived! As we head into May this week, we will have lost of things going on to wrap up the 2018-2019 school year and being the upcoming marching season.
Please pay close attention to all of the events coming up and schedules for each.
This week solo rehearsals begin and band placement auditions take place on Saturday. Double check your rehearsal and audition times.
Congratulations to all of the students who applied for the leadership team on their hard work and preparation.

UIL Physical requirements for 2019-2020 School year are posted below. All students must have a physical completed annually for Frisco ISD and it must be completed prior to the first day of band camp. Please plan with your physician to schedule your annual check-up prior to band camp beginning.

Percussion Announcements
Wakeland Percussion,
Thursday, May 2 is our dress rehearsal for our Cluster Percussion Concert on May 3. You do not need to wear your concert attire to the dress rehearsal. The schedule can be found below:
Wakeland High School Auditorium
5:00p - Cobb and Griffin Middle School Dress Rehearsal
6:45p - Walk Like an Egyptian
7:30p - Wakeland Percussion Dress Rehearsal
9:00p - Dismissed
You are expected to stay the entire time from 5:00p until 9:00p and will be provided with snacks after school on May 2.
You will be assisting the middle school students with set ups during their dress rehearsal from 5:00p until 6:45p. We will run Walk Like an Egyptian from 6:45p until 7:30p. As soon as we are finished with Walk Like an Egyptian the middle school students will be dismissed.
We will be running through the entire concert in concert order beginning at 7:30p. Do not leave during this time even if your ensembles are finished as you will be assisting with set ups for the other groups.
May 3 is our concert day. Dress for the concert is “All Black”. Call time for all students is 6:00p with the concert beginning at 7:00p. Remember to invite friends and family and admission is Free!!

UIL Required Band Physicals Information
Lone Star Ambassadors: Europe 2020
Join us for our 2020 Lone Star Ambassadors (LSA) informational meeting on May 13th at 6:30 pm.
Students have the opportunity to spend 2-weeks visiting SEVEN countries including in the cultures, music, and sightseeing!
Sites visited in 2018:
- London, UK
- Paris, France
- Switzerland
- Austria
- Venice, Italy
- Lichenstein
- Rotenburg, Germany
The 2020 tour will be from June 9-24, 2020.
The meeting is not a commitment. We just want to see as many of you all there to get information and ask questions. The LSA sponsor will be on site to give a brief presentation and field all questions about the trip.
Students currently in Grades 8-11 are able to attend and the meeting is open for students and parents.
