The staff at FRH are very excited to have our new and returning students join us for their first day of school tomorrow, August 29. Doors will open at 8:20 a.m. See you then!

September 4 - Staff Meeting/ Early Dismissal 2:11 p.m.

September 6 - Picture Day

September 11 - Meet the Staff Muffin morning 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

September 18 - School Council AGM for in the school library 6 p.m.

September 27 - Terry Fox Run Day

September 30 - National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NO SCHOOL)

October 4 - Professional Learning Day (NO SCHOOL)

October 14 - Thanksgiving (NO SCHOOL)

Option changes may be considered after the first 6-day class cycle. These changes are dependent upon space and resources. Please contact your grade level administrator for more information.

We are very excited to welcome new staff to F.R. Haythorne for the 2024 - 25 school year.

The primary entrance to our school will be the only door that is ever unlocked. However, once block one begins, it will be secured.

Our main front entrance is equipped with a bell and camera linked to the front office.

Visitors seeking entry during locked hours are required to ring the bell for assistance.

The doors will be unlocked as follows:

8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

12:21 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Students and staff at FRH will once again be participating in the annual Terry Fox run in hopes to raise funds and awareness for cancer research. This run will take place on Friday, September 27th. Students will be participating in the run with their grade level cohorts during the morning of the 27th.

Students are encouraged to bring in their own donation the week before the event as students from the Leadership 9 class will be collecting those donations each morning. Is your child riding the bus this year? If yes, download the My Ride and Bus Status apps to stay in the know about your child’s bus stop location, route, pickup time and whether their bus is running on schedule.

The grade 9 French class will be hosting a bottle drive soon to help raise funds for their potential trip to Quebec.

Please save your bottles for us!

We welcome you to come out to meet the staff event at an informal meet and greet on September 11. Students will have the opportunity to take you into the school to see their lockers and tour the school from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Our first school council and AGM will begin at 6 p.m. on September 18, 2023, in the school library.

We will be looking for individuals who are interested in the following positions:

2. Co-Chair

3. Secretary

Everyone is welcome to attend any meeting throughout the year.

We value your time, and we do our best to keep meetings to a one-hour limit. We look forward to seeing you throughout the year if you are able to attend.
