This week, we revisited the story of St. Francis of Assisi, born in 1181 in Assisi, Italy. After a life-changing moment in the hills of Umbria, St. Francis felt called by God to "rebuild His church"—not just physical buildings but the human institution of faith.
St. Francis devoted his life to God, preaching the Gospel, embracing the sanctity of all creation, and spreading God's word. He is also remembered for creating the first Christmas Nativity Scene to help others appreciate the miracles of the first Christmas.
This week, our school community came together in faith to celebrate the Epiphany during a beautiful Mass led by Mr. Kelson and our Grade 7 students at St. Mary’s Church. Thank you to our parents, parishioners, senior admin, and trustee who were able to join us.
The Epiphany reminds us of the journey of the Magi, who followed the light of the star to encounter Christ. Similarly, we are called to follow the light of faith in our own lives, seeking to nurture and serve one another as a reflection of His love.
Thank you to Mr. Kelson and the Grade 7 students for their thoughtful leadership and for helping us begin the year inspired by this meaningful celebration. Together, we continue our journey of faith, guided by His light.

Volunteer Spotlight - Mr. Koopmans
Mr. Koopmans was recognized this week in the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre Volunteer spotlight. Thank you for all the work you do for our community!

Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him—most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. Overflowing with heart and humor, BIG FISH is an extraordinary musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre—for an experience that’s richer, funnier and bigger than life itself.
The show is rated PG as there is some language that is not appropriate for all ages. Nothing overtly violent or explicit in terms of content in this show.

Shrek presents a treasure trove of creative opportunities, including costumes, sets, puppets (there is a fire-breathing dragon after all) and more! Irreverently fun for the whole family, Shrek proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.
