El Dia Del Niño
Spartans,
We are initiating a new celebration for our school in the month of April this year. April 30th is the date of a unique recognition of what author and poet, Pat Mora, terms “bookjoy.” She founded a day of celebration in 1996 known as “Children’s Day, Book Day” or “El día de los niños, El día de los libros.” The day was based on the traditional Mexican holiday El dia del niño or Day of the Child which is celebrated throughout the world on April 30th. Ms. Mora wanted to connect all children with bookjoy, or the pleasure of reading. Our Salem Junior celebration of this holiday will include a project contest for any student interested in earning a grand prize of a $20 Amazon gift card or a secondary prize of selecting a book that the school will purchase for them from Amazon. If you’re interested in participating in the contest by creating a poster, poem, piece of art, short story, or any project that celebrates children and books, ask your English or Spanish teachers for details, or scan the QR code in the flier.
April Mental Health Series
Attached you will find the Mental Health Series advertisements for April in English and Spanish.
I’d like to highlight the upcoming Ask a Therapist LIVE event on April 16th, which is part of your Mental Health Series platform. This event takes place once a month and offers a unique opportunity for parents to engage directly with a licensed family therapist. Parents can ask questions anonymously and receive personalized answers in real-time.
Please utilize the following links to promote Ask a Therapist LIVE on April 16th depending on your needs:
