For All Parents of Students Receiving Special Education Services
in Gwinnett County Public Schools
“Self-Determination – What is it and How can I Support my Child?”
This session is highly recommended for parents of students at all levels (elementary, middle, and high school). Self-Determination is the belief that all individuals, with and without disabilities, have the right to direct their own lives. Self-determination skills include self-advocacy, self-awareness, goal setting, choice making, and striving for independence. In this session, participants will learn how to help their children develop self-determination skills at home and at school in order to maximize their growth and potential as they transition to adulthood.
