Dear PCK Community,
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your generous contributions to our recent FundRun! Your participation and support have made a tremendous impact, helping us raise vital funds for safety and security programs and upkeep at PCK.
It was inspiring to see our community come together, united in a common goal. Whether you ran with our students, cheered, volunteered, or donated, your enthusiasm and commitment made the event a resounding success. I also wish to thank each of you for following the required safety protocol of checking-in at the front office to receive your Raptor badge. Abiding by and reinforcing these safety practices is the only way I feel comfortable allowing spectators and visitors onto our campus during school hours.
Thank you to the FundRun organizers, Samantha Thompson and Melissa Prentice, as well as the entire Foundation board and members. Together, these volunteers, our staff and PCK families are making a difference in the lives of our students. Thank you for believing in our mission and for your support.
We look forward to sharing the positive outcomes of your contributions in the coming months!
Thank you,
Dr. Leanne Weyman
Director
For this week's spotlight we are thrilled to present the winners of our Summer Reading Challenge. Reading is a foundational pillar of a great education, and we place a special emphasis on fostering a love of reading at PCK. This annual competition encourages students to keep their reading journey alive, no matter their age, because we believe that the habit of reading shapes lifelong learners.
We are incredibly proud to highlight the accomplishments of six outstanding students, from 1st through 6th grade, who have shown dedication and enthusiasm for reading over the summer.
Congratulations to our winners:
1st Grade - Jocelyn Wolkenburg
2nd Grade - Luke Richards
3rd Grade - Hannah Rein
4th Grade - Quinn Carvill
5th Grade - Kenzie McClain
6th Grade - Ren Gandolph
Let us continue to support and celebrate the joy of reading, and inspire all our students to engage with books as part of their educational journey.
While it may seem as though the school year has just started, PCK administration is already getting the ball rolling looking ahead to the 2025-2026 school year. With this in mind we are releasing our Sibling Status Form. This form has been designed specifically for families with children currently attending PCK, who also have siblings on our waitlist. We want to ensure that PCK students with siblings are prioritized and bumped to the top of our extensive waitlist.
We kindly ask families in this situation to re-submit their sibling information through the form to help us maintain accurate records and streamline the process. The form is quick and easy to complete - only taking a couple of minutes at most.
We look forward to welcoming even more members of your family, into the PCK community!
There has been a change regarding the start of our Chess Club. Due to some technical issues on the event organizer's end, several families experienced difficulty registering. As a result, the start date for Chess Wizards has been pushed back to Monday, September 30 to allow everyone ample time to sign up.
Chess Club will now consist of a total of 10 classes, held once a week on Mondays. Please note that there will be no class on October 14.
To register your student for Chess Wizards, please click the button below.
Parents, Class Picture and Picture Retake Day will take place on Monday, October 28. This day offers an opportunity for students who were absent on the original picture day or those who need their picture retaken to have their school photo completed for this year.
Please note that for this retake day, students must be in uniform in order to be included in the class photo or have their individual photo taken. This ensures consistency, as all students will be in uniform for their class photos.
Our outstanding theatre department will be hosting a hands-on, exploratory theatre camp to introduce students to our After School Theatre program. This camp is an excellent opportunity for students in grades 1-3 to gain insight into the program, as they will soon be eligible to participate. Please note that registration for this camp is limited.
During the camp, students will go behind the scenes of our current production, Aladdin Jr., and explore both cast and crew roles, giving them a comprehensive look at what it takes to bring a show to life.
Each attendee will receive lunch, a t-shirt, and a complimentary ticket to PCK's production of Aladdin Jr. on November 23. The cost for the event is $50 per student, with all proceeds supporting the PCK Music Department.
Parents please send in updated vaccination records, especially if your child has received a new vaccination within the last six months. Furthermore as per the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, students are required to have Tdap prior to entry into 6th grade. One dose of Tdap is required for grades 6-12.
Additionally, in order to stay compliant please also remember to submit any exemption forms as well. They can be found below. All forms can be emailed to plee@ckcs.net, or a copy can be dropped off at the front desk.
If you're in need of volunteer hours or just want to lend a helping hand, this Saturday at 9:00 a.m., Mrs. Myers, along with her Tech Theatre Class, will be working on removing old sets and props and reorganizing our under-stage storage area in preparation for upcoming productions. We would love to have additional help from any parents who have a few hours to spare and would like to contribute.
If you're interested in joining this project, please reach out to Mrs. Myers directly at kmyers@ckcs.net to confirm your participation.
This week we are continuing the search for library volunteers for K-2 classes. As a library volunteer, you will have the opportunity to help read with the students and ensure they have an enjoyable and enriching experience during their library time.
Before signing up, please make sure you are selecting the correct slot that corresponds with your child’s library time. You can cross-reference the class schedule provided at the top of the volunteer site to ensure accuracy. Your involvement helps us create a welcoming and fun environment for all of our students.
Don't forget that the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school from October 7-11. We are still looking for volunteers to help with the fair, and volunteers to assist our younger students in making their wishlists prior to the event.
All sign-ups for library and book fair volunteering can be accessed below.

This week, our Volunteer Spotlight highlights the Santana-Roman family for their incredible support. Their family has gone above and beyond to ensure our staff is taken cared of, donating breakfast for our inservice day tomorrow, September 20. We greatly appreciate the generosity of the Santana-Roman's and are beyond proud to have them as a part of our PCK family.
