Superintendent's Update
Dear Egg Harbor Township School Community,
As we step into the vibrant month of May, we are greeted with opportunities for reflection, celebration, and continued growth within our schools. Perseverance is our character education word of the month and we will educate on the importance of utilizing that skill to help us address challenges.
The month of May brings us flowers and the warmer weather as well as the New Jersey state testing process. I ask that you speak to your child about the importance of not getting stressed out over this requirement, but rather do the best that they can in the moment. Some helpful tips that you can assist your child rich with doing their best is to ensure a good night's rest, provide a healthy breakfast, and celebrate their efforts.
Some observances in May that highlight the diversity and resilience of our community:
Celebrating the contributions and cultures of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
Jewish American Heritage Month: Honoring the history and achievements of Jewish Americans.
Mental Health Awareness Month: Promoting the importance of mental well-being and support.
ALS Awareness Month: Raising awareness about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
Arthritis Awareness Month: Highlighting the challenges faced by those with arthritis.
Apraxia Awareness Month: Bringing attention to childhood apraxia of speech.
National Clean Air Month: Emphasizing the importance of air quality for our health and environment.
Additionally, we look forward to Mother's Day which is a time to honor and appreciate mothers and mother figures and Memorial Day where remembering and honoring those who have served our country is important.
Throughout May, we remain steadfast in our mission to Embrace, Engage, and Educate our students. Together, we will continue to foster a nurturing and dynamic learning environment.
Wishing you all a joyful and productive month of May!! #EHTPride
Warm regards,
Dr. Kim Gruccio

District Mission and Goals
Mission Statement- Embrace - Engage - Educate
Our mission in the Egg Harbor Township School District is to embrace families and their
students to provide a safe, rigorous, and relevant learning experience while students are engaged and educated to become responsible for their own learning.
Student Achievement
In order to prepare students for the future that awaits them, teaching practices will incorporate new technologies and innovation to support student learning to prepare students for the future that awaits them. Professional Learning Community work will encompass the Teaching and Assessing Cycle. This data will assist in meeting individual student needs using the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework. We will also focus on the social and emotional needs of every student to foster successful learning experiences.
Culture, Climate and EHT Pride
S.O.A.R. (SAFETY, OWNERSHIP, ACCOUNTABILITY, RESPECT) will be used as the foundation to ensure a safe learning environment for all. SOAR provides students with self-regulation skills, life skills, and character skills that will assist them with student achievement, work ethic, good character, and a respect for diversity. We will celebrate progress through recognition and reward to reinforce student expectations for a positive school climate, culture, and #EHTPride.
Expand Stakeholder Partnerships
Continue to form positive, supportive, and sustained partnerships with community partners to complement and enhance student learning, activities, and athletics at all grade levels. The effectiveness of these partnerships will depend on the quality of collaboration, the alignment of goals, and the level of commitment from all involved parties. These stakeholders include students, parents, teachers, support staff, school administrators, the Board of Education, community organizations, businesses, and government agencies.
