What an amazing first week! It is so great to have all of our Ocelots back on campus. Next week
we will be holding our Back to School Night on Thursday August 29th. We will have our taco guy here and gates will open at 5:00 if you’d like to have some dinner beforehand. At 5:45 parents will take a seat on the steps in front of the gym and there will be a brief message from Mr. Morgan and an introduction of our wonderful teachers. Starting at 6pm will be the first session of classes. At 6:30 there will be a second session. This is to accommodate families with more than 1 student at Olive. If you have specific questions as it pertains to your student’s teacher, please reach out to them directly.
OPTC membership drive begins next week. Look for their info packets at back to school night or being sent home with information n how to get involved and support our school and most importantly our students.
School Site Council- We are still in need of parents to serve on school site cancel. if you would like to nominate yourself or someone interested, please respond to this email. This will consist of 4-5 meetings throughout the year. You input is valued.
Data Confirmation- We are at 93%. Please complete this if you have not done so. There is more information on how to in this newsletter.

Modified Wednesdays/Minimum Days:
TK/Kindergarten: 8:15am-12:30pm
1st – 3rd grade: 8:15am-12:30pm
4th - 6th grade: 8:15am – 12:45pm
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays:
TK/Kindergarten: 8:15am-2:15pm
1st - 3rd grade: 8:15am– 2:15pm
4th - 6th grade: 8:15am – 2:30pm

DATA CONFIRMATION is part of the annual registration process. All families need to complete DATA CONFIRMATION through PARENT PORTAL (use your parent log-in, NOT student log-in). Process is complete when you confirm the final step "Final Data Confirmation"
Pick- Up & Drop- Off
All students may be dropped off at the Olive St. gate beginning at 7:50am. Students will go directly to their assigned areas to wait for their teachers.
TK and Preschool students will be dropped off in the primary parking lot gate off Magnolia and Buena Vista. This is a one way drop off area, so please enter to the right and circle around before exiting.
Please use the right drop-off lane for students exiting or entering the car. Students will not be permitted to enter or exit cars that are in the pass thru lanes. Parking is only permitted in marked spaces in any parking lot. If you feel the need to park, please use designated spaces or park on the streets adjacent to the school.

Right to Know Professional Qualifications of Teachers and Paraprofessionals

Dear Parents,
In compliance with the requirements of the Every Students Succeeds Act, Olive Elementary School would
like to inform you that you may request information about the professional qualifications of your student’s teacher(s) and/ or paraprofessional(s). The following information may be requested:
• Whether the student’s teacher:
- has met State qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction;
- is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which State qualification or licensing criteria have been waived; and
- is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher.
- Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
