OHS Back to School Update
August 9th, 2023
Message from Ozark High School Principal Jeremy Brownfield
OHS students and families,
We are so excited to get the 2023-24 school year started. After last year’s transition back to a 9-12 high school and opening the Innovation Center, we can’t wait to see what this year holds in store for our returning students as well as our incoming 9th graders and transfer students. Please make plans to come to open house this Thursday evening from 3:30-6:30 to meet your student’s teachers and other building staff. For many it may be your first opportunity to see the state of the art learning spaces in the OIC.
Please take time to review the important information below regarding Student IDs :
- Student IDs are necessary to keep both buildings that make up Ozark High School safe and allow students to transition between them smoothly.
- All returning students need to wear their ID they had last year on the first day of school.
- New students and incoming 9th graders should receive theirs on the first day.
- Any student who has lost their ID over the summer may purchase a new one before school starts by seeing Julie Wood in the main office.
If you haven't already, mark your 📅 calendars for our Meet the Teacher event. There will be 🌭 food, 🎉 fun and, of course, you can meet your fantastic 🤝 teachers!
➡️ New to Ozark Student Orientation: 5:30 - 6:30 pm at the LRC (Main Campus)
➡️ Student schedules and teacher assignments are available on the new PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Attendance Procedures
- If a student needs to leave school for any reason please send them with a note signed by a parent or guardian stating their name and time that they need to leave. They will bring it to the office and receive a pass from the office staff. The student MUST sign out through the office before leaving the building! If you are unable to send a note, you may call the attendance line 417-582-5901 and leave a message with your name, student name and the time the student needs to be checked out, (please allow 15 min. or more for staff to be able to get your student out in time) and let staff know your students name, the time they are leaving and the name of the person picking up if it is someone other than parent or guardian. Staff will then call the student up and give them a pass to leave - the Student MUST sign out through the office before leaving the building.
- If a student arrives late to school for any reason they MUST sign in through the main office either in the OIC or Main Campus. They will need permission from a parent prior to arriving at school or you may send them with a dr. note or note upon arriving at school.
- Please call the attendance line if your student is going to be late, absent or needs to leave early. You will be able to leave a message.
