SABE Noticias Familiares
Vol. 3 No. 1 July/August 2024
From: Mrs. Rodriguez, Executive Director/Head of School
Hello SABE Familia!
I first want to welcome our new Kindergarten and new scholars and of course welcome back our returning scholars! This year is extra special because it is our 10th anniversary and I am so excited! This is the start of my eighth year at SABE and I am proud to serve SABE in my role as the head of school/executive director. Everything I do in my role is to serve the scholars, our staff and the entire community of SABE!
I am also excited about some changes and all that we have been doing this summer to continue to serve our SABE community and make SABE the best dual language school in Rio Rancho!
Please join me in welcoming back Mrs. Guerrero as our new 1st grade, English teacher and our new staff Mrs. Divett (in-house substitute), Mrs. Briseño (Kindergarten educational assistant), Mrs. Crain (2nd grade-Spanish), Mrs. Bueno (Kindergarten-Spanish), Mrs. Layne (fifth grade-bilingual), Mrs. Cruz (MS teacher), Ms. Cisneros (MS teacher), Mrs. Moffett (MS educational assistant), and Mrs. Wilder (physical education).
There are some other exciting changes at SABE! Mrs. Wilburn will be returning as our Community School Coordinator. With the NMPED grant, we will be able to support our community efforts to support our scholars and SABE both during the school day and our monthly parent engagement nights, SOMOS SABE Noches de Familia. I am also very excited that he will be continuing to build our middle school athletics program. Mrs. Guerrero will be assisting in these efforts and is excited to fill some teams to represent SABE!
Ms. M. Duran who will not only be serving as our front desk clerk and health assistant, but she will be assisting with our yearbook. Ms. Cisneros will be building SABE’s first Baile Folklórico program. Mrs. Kubler will continue SABE's Instructional Coach and assist with our ESL program. And, Mrs. Vaughn will serve as our registrar and administrative assistant.
We are excited and grateful to our middle school teachers who will be supporting our scholars with a new middle school program focusing on language and grade level development and enrichment. This year we will be renewing our charter contract and with our new building under construction, we are anxiously awaiting a move very soon!
As we begin the new school year, I want to thank you in advance for your commitment to SABE and helping us to focus our efforts on giving the best academic program to meet the needs of your children. We will continue to find ways to help every scholar reach their highest potential and become bilingual and biliterate!
As I am excited to send you this letter, it is the face-to-face interaction that I value the most. Please know that we have an open-door policy and welcome the opportunity to meet with you.
We look forward to seeing you at the annual SABE Meet the Teacher event on Thursday, August 1st from 5:00-7:00pm.
We are looking forward to watching the scholars stream out of the cars and to having our building filled with the hustle and bustle that has been absent all summer.
Thank you and see you soon, SABE family!
