We are looking forward to the upcoming 2024-25 school year! Keeping families informed is a priority of ours. We will continue to use this Friday newsletter to communicate upcoming events, important information, celebrate students, and share out resources within the Estacada community.

On August 12th, you can find out who your child's teacher is when you log into PowerSchool. Please know that students have been placed in classrooms with many considerations. We want your child to be where they will be the most comfortable and do their very best! We look at each student as an individual, their unique learning needs, and the chemistry of the classroom to build a culture of learning. We know that your student will benefit from the amount of care put into this process, and we look forward to watching them grow with their new teacher.

Some of our staff members have taken on new roles within our school this year, and we are excited for their next adventures. Mrs. Buckingham will now be supporting students through her new role as an English Language Learner Specialist, working to support all students' language acquisition skills. Ms. Tidd will now be supporting students through her new roles as Title 1 Reading Specialist, working with students in devleoping their literacy skills. Mrs. Norvald will be teaching Kindergarten students this school year and our students will benefit greatly.

We also have some new staff members joining our River Mill team for this school year. We are welcoming Mrs. Hokkanen to our 4th grade team. Her passion, positivity and teaching experience are only part of what make her a great addition.

Mr. Riggs and Mrs. Simonsen will be joing our 3rd grade team. Both are excited to be teaching at River Mill and will jump right in and be strong assets amongst our team.

To ensure the safety of all our students, we ask that all families use the PickUp Patrol app to inform us of their child's daily transportation plans. Please make sure you have set up your child's plans for the first day of school and for the rest of the school year. This is an essential step for the first day of school. You can update these plans at any time!

We invite you to River Mill Elementary's 2024 Open House on August 22nd, 2024. The event will take place inside our school and classrooms, where you will have the opportunity to meet your child's teacher, hear a presentation from your child's teacher, drop off school supplies, and have any initial questions answered.

My School Bucks is an online payment service that provides parents the ability to securely pay for meals, monitor student cafeteria purchases, and receive email notifications for low account balances. Please note: currently, a convenience fee will be applied for each transaction. All transactions are processed and applied to students' accounts nightly.
