Important info for parent-teacher conferences:
- Talk about academic ILPs with families. Share with them what they can do to partner with you to reach the goals you set for their student.
- Show them NWEA MAP report and explain how their student compares to their peers.
- Talk about SEL plans for their students and what families can do to support you in that goal.
- Share about their grades in your classes and their behaviors.
- Share with parents our re-enrollment process (info sheets will be provided to you). All you need to do is to make families aware that they will get a TADs link and they need to do admission, enrollment, and financial aid form by February 24th.
- Mention Scholastic book fair in room 107
- K-5: please talk about sending kids with winter clothes for recess
If you need me, principal, or Heather during some of your conferences, please tell us or email/text us ahead of time when you'd like us to join you.
Sue and Dana, please feel free to join the conferences of the scholars that you think it would be beneficial to connect with their parents/ guardians.
About Scholastic Book Fair
Dear teachers,
It is time again for our annual Scholastic Book Fair. Please use the button below to sign up for times to take your class to purchase books. There will be someone there to help purchase books. I’d love for you to put together a book wishlist. This will give families some great suggestions, and it’s a nice way to encourage involvement across all grades.
Thank you for helping make this a special event for our students! 😊Please send home a Remind message to families & don't forget to write your book wishlist for the book fair:
Parents, please stop by during Parent Teacher Conferences (Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26) to browse and pick up a book or two for your child in Room 107. Remember, Christmas is just around the corner! This is also a great time to gift our teachers with any books from their wishlist. Please check out the table in room 107 with each teacher's wishlist.
Professional Development Day - November 22
In the Conference Room
11am-11:30am - lunch on your own
11:30am-3pm - work on your grading and prep for the parent-teacher conferences
New teachers who teach math and reading, please come to the conference room for your one-on-one time with Bluum coach Kady Marteness (Kady.Marteness@Bluum.com) on your NWEA MAP test data strategies:
11:30am-12:15pm - Gabriela
12:15pm-1pm - Grace
1-1:45pm - Olivia
1:45pm-2:30pm - Katie
I am taking my time off on this day to spend my last day with my mom who is leaving the next day for Ukraine. It might be my last time with her. Jackie Carter will be at the PD if you have any academic questions. All logistical questions should go to Mary Beane. I trust you will have a productive day and will support each other if you have any questions about grading or smart boards.

-VERY important- hit save before leaving this screen
You can also enter scores later by going to the A+ on the left

Directions How to Finalize Grades
Teachers:
As you know, the last day of the trimester is Tuesday, November 26th. Final Trimester 2 grades are due Tuesday, December 3rd by 3:00pm. Printed report cards will be delivered to you by the office to send home on Friday, December 6th.
Here is a reminder on how to finalize your grades:
a. In PowerTeacher Pro > Grading, after entering grades, then:
1. click Final Grade Status (lower right corner of screen)
2. on the screen that comes up, check the box just above the Save button (important -- don't skip this step)
3. click Save
b. Notify the office when done
c. This finalization can be run more than once per trimester
Another reminder: Comments have to be in the student's homeroom course for them to show up on the report card. If you have access to the student's homeroom course, please enter the comment there, preceded by the subject name (so we know what subject it is for). For example, "Science - Johnny participates well in class but is missing some homework." If you do not have access to the student's homeroom course, please enter the comment in the subject you teach the student, then let us know in the office and we can move it over to Homeroom for you.
If you have any questions about PowerSchool grading that your fellow teachers can't answer, please contact Mary or Andrea.
