Nassau News
May 2024
Dear Nassau Families,
April was highlighted by Our Music In Our Schools Assembly and Alex’s Lemonade. Both were extremely successful and a lot of fun, with the money from Alex’s Lemonade going to a wonderful cause. May is an exciting month at Nassau filled with field trips, assemblies, and special visitors! Today we were even able to get our entire student population outside for ACES Day (All Children Exercising Simultaneously) which was fun to do on such a beautiful day.
In May, we also celebrate Staff Appreciation Week! I would like to personally thank all of our amazing staff at Nassau. We have an incredibly dedicated staff who help to make our school the wonderful learning environment that it is. A look inside this newsletter at the pictures shows this in so many different ways. We are so grateful to each and every one of you!
Best,
Erik Lynch

Mrs. Zanca and Mrs. Christolon’s second grade class hosted an Alex's Lemonade Stand during lunch periods on April 25th. The foundation raises money for childhood cancer causes and supports research for new treatments and cures. This was truly an incredible day for all! Students learned a valuable lesson about "giving back". The Town of Poughkeepsie Police and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office both attended. Each agency brought a canine and some "giveaways" too! Thank you to everyone who donated to and supported Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Together, we raised $1,677.21!
