Wednesday - Corndog, potato wedges, mixed vegetables, macaroni salad, orange wedges, milk
Thursday - Beef burger, waffle fries, broccoli, banana, milk
Friday - Chicken strips, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, fresh fruit, milk

Pre-school starts September 3rd and Late starts will begin on September 4th.
Attendance update
Updated Attendance Policy in accordance with Senate File 2435:
Chronically absent is defined as ANY absence (excused or unexcused) from school for more than 10% of the days/hours in a grading period.
Family Notification:
Families will be notified when students reach 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% per trimester.
Engagement Meetings
If a child is absent from school for 15% or more days in a trimester, a school official must investigate and set up an engagement meeting. These meetings must include both student and parent/guardian.
Truancy/County Attorney
If a child is considered truant (20%), the school MUST report the information to the county attorney and the county attorney MUST take legal action.
Number of days and equivalent percentage
5% equals 3 days
10% equals 6 days
15% equals 9 days
20% equals 12 days.
Please contact the office if your child will have regular appointments. The district has the local authority to mark these days as exempt to this policy. There will be an adopted list of exemptions adopted by the school board in the future. Please contact Mr. Summy if you have any questions.

Calls to office for student plans
Visitors to Colfax Mingo Elementary
For the safety and security of our students, visitors must check in at the main office upon arrival and present a valid state-issued ID for the office to scan through the Raptor Visitor Management System. Once approved, the visitor will be issued a visitor’s sticker that must be worn visibly at all times while on school grounds. Visitors need to check out prior to leaving, the badge will be collected and destroyed. Children who do not have a valid ID may be allowed as long as they are accompanied by an adult who has completed the ID process and been issued a badge.
If you are meeting with staff, please make an appointment. School days are tightly scheduled for responding to student needs and staff collaboration. To make the best use of your time and ensure that the staff person you need to see will be available, please take a few minutes to call or email to schedule a time to meet. By doing so, you can be sure that staff member will be available to speak with you and they will have the necessary information to respond to your questions.
