THURSDAY EXCHANGE NEWSLETTER
September 5, 2024
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Parents & Families,
Since we do not have school on Monday, we will have school for students tomorrow, Friday, September 6th.
We are excited to welcome grandparents next week for our Grandparents' Breakfast events. We are no longer pre-printing badges. Please allow plenty of time to have your badge printed the day of the event. We will have extra stations available to print badges and will work as quick as we can to get everyone through fast. Please be patient, as our lines do get long. See below for more details.
This week, we started welcoming families to join their child for lunch, volunteer for teachers, or conduct a classroom observation. Prior to planning your trip to campus, click here to review our Campus Visitor Policy.
Sign Up for Parent Portal
Teachers will begin recording grades soon. Parents are encouraged to sign up for Life School Parent Portal by clicking here. The Parent Portal will allow parents to monitor attendance records and student grades throughout the year.
Grandparents' Breakfast
Please come and join us for Grandparents' Day on September 10th and 11th from 7:15-8:15 am.
If your child is in Kindergarten- 3rd grade, you can come on Sept 10th.
If your child is in 4th-6th grade, you can come on Sept. 11th.
If your children are in various grade levels across the campus, please choose one day to come with all your students.
Muffins and coffee will be on a first come, first serve basis and students will not be able to attend without an adult. Adults will not be able to walk their children to class after breakfast.
If you would like to volunteer to help make this event successful, please email Danielle.Dillard@lifeschools.net
To make the event as smooth as possible, please help us with these few things if possible:
Have the grandparent/s drive the child to school the day of the event.
Meet the grandparents at school so they can walk in together.
Make sure the grandparent/s know the child's grade level and teacher so the child can be easily located if they are not already with the grandparent.
Thank you for partnering with us to make this a wonderful event for our grandparents and students!

As busy as we all are with the Hussle and Bussle of this world we all have to try our best to maintain good health Mentally, Physically, and Spiritually as best we humanly can.
- Continue to encourage healthy habits- An apple day really works!
- Communication is key- it cuts down a lot of confusion. It's ok if it's sometimes repetitive because we all are working on something and we are all in places in our lives. (Patience)
Continue to model positive coping skills-what this behavior does is it helps your student to identify as well as teaches them on how to deal with stressful situations such as moving to a new school or moving to a new community. With consistency and an unwavering spirit, we all can do it! One day at a time, one moment at a time, one step at a time. BREATHE DEEP!

Life Habits
Every day we have Life Habits time that is focused on building social, emotional and behavioral skills. Each week we will post Life Habits conversation starters in our newsletter that are aligned with the Life Habits lessons from the week. We will also have signs in the pick up line for you to access the questions of the week. We hope you enjoy hearing about what your child is learning at school.
DEVELOPING LEADERS AT LSRO
Weekly I Will Statements
During morning announcements, we will focus on one LifeLeader Attribute each week and learn what we need to do to develop each attribute so that we can become effective leaders in our school and in our community. We encourage students and families to memorize these statements together and talk about how the attribute is exhibited at home, school and work. We will share the I Will statement in the weekly newsletter and on our campus Facebook page. We look forward to hearing how students are exhibiting the attributes at school and home. Click here to view all 15 LifeLeader attributes.
We would like to recognize LSRO staff for all the amazing things that they do each day for our students. If you have someone that you would like to brag about, please fill out this form and we will share the Shout Outs through the weekly Thursday Exchange.
Want to submit a staff shout out? Click here: Staff Shout-Outs!!!! (Google Form)

Breakfast is served each day from 7:15-7:45.
